I seriously wish there was a way to not have exit TV missile the same as exit vehicle...... So fucking awkward to tell people to pick you up after that totally fucking awesome missile hit... Or when your gunner does the same...

switch seat (didn't even swap me to pilot seat oO)
switch weapon
switch to main gun
"interact" (infantry)

Switching to pilot seat works when flying solo but...

WASD to move around
Q to spot
E to run as infantry in the middle of a gunfight (otherwise double-W)/enter/exit vehicle
W to switch on/off laser sight/sun
X to deploy bipod
C to change fire-mode (don't use it much as I have it binded on my mouse)
R to reload
F to stab
Left Shift (Hold) to crouch
Caps lock to go prone
1 -> 4 to change weapon/gadgets
Mouse 3 to throw a grenade
Mouse 4 to change fire-mode

F1 -> F6 to change seat
1 and 2 to switch vehicle weapons (or F)
W to accelerate
AD to turn
S to decelerate
X or Mouse 3 for countermeasures

Spacebar for clean takeoff and loops in jets.

T for general chat
Y for team chat
U for squad chat
Ded.

WASD movement.
1-6 for weapons/equipment (defaults)
Mouse buttons default.
Thumb button for primary-secondary switch.
F - Knife
q - spot
x - fire mode
c - crouch
v - prone
space - jump
shift - sprint
z - bipod
r - reload
t - lights/lasers
g - nade

My main groupings are WASD for movement, around space for stance, bipod is on z because i don't need to change stance/fire mode while putting down bipod, other than that it is just a big clusterfuck around WASD.

Nothing remotely special...
WASD = Move
Space = Jump
Alt = Crouch
Then I've got F, C & V set to toggle Primary, Gadget 1 & Gadget 2 respectively...

I think all my controls are default except for my Jet and Helicopter controls which are as follows;

Jet:
W for POOWWAAAAHHH
S for less POOOWWAHHH
A to roll left
Space and mouse down to pitch up
Mouse up to pitch down
D to roll right
Mouse left to yaw left
Mouse right to yaw right
Shift for afterburners
F for alternating between weapons (programmed on mouse)
X for counter measures (programmed on mouse for fast reactions to lock on missiles)
LMB to shoot

Helicopter:
W for POOOWWAAHHHH
S for less POOOWWAAAHHH
A to roll left
D to roll right
Mouse up to pitch forwards
Mouse up to pitch backwards
Mouse left to yaw left
Mouse right to yaw right

Is it weird that i switched the keys for sprint and jump so that sprint is space and shift is jump? My logic is that it is easier to press space than shift, and i will be sprinting more than jumping.

I know how :D I exit TV with G and exit heli and almost everything else with E. If i tell you though your probably gonna go oh, dammit he told me this once before. I should sell the secret to the highest bidder.




Open your PROF_SAVE_profile. I use Notpad ++ but any text editor will work. This file is where all of your key binds and most of your in game menu settings are saved. Now, If you have used Realmwares tool you most likely have Mav controls in that file. There will be a group of lines that look like GstKeyBinding.mav.blahblahblah. You wanna find the line GstKeyBinding.mav.ConceptChangeVehicle.blahblahblah Their should be 12 or so that have that prefix. Notice 4 lines per group numbered in order. four lines of GstKeyBinding.mav.ConceptChangeVehicle.0 . Four lines of GstKeyBinding.mav.ConceptChangeVehicle.1 and so on. If you ever add a group of lines, you need to continue that count. The group you wanna edit is the group that has a line that ends in ".type 0" [0 = keyboard, 1 = mouse, 2 = joystick] You will see GstKeyBinding.mav.ConceptChangeVehicle.0.button 18 . Change 18 to what ever key you want Exit TV to be. Here is a keymap for what key is what. Key Numbers: IBM AT-Style Keyboard (Nota Bene)

If you have never used realmwares tool AND you don't already have all the MAV controls in your PROF file.(ACTUALLY check) you can just copy and past my keybinds at the bottom of the text file. BF will put it in the right order for you when it saves your game.

When your all done the easiest way it just click save. Not save as or anything. It will most likely try to save it as a text file and BF will just revert to defaults on ya. If you do save as .txt just go and rename the file and remove the .txt extension and replace the PROF that is therer.

ALSO if you have origin sync on. Turn it off. OR when you load bf3 pick to use local settings and then it will sync your new bindings to its cloud.


TL;DR MAV controls the Mav and your TV missile. (including your TV missile in flight ;] )

It works on xbox


I was messing with PC mouse emulating a joystick or xbox controller because sticks have no acceleration and the same sens for tank and gunner. While messing with it I found in the files xbox at least has different schemes for control mapping. Odd but....DICE..

On pc MAV is scheme o and based off inf key bindings. On xbox its ??root2?? what ever controller scheme that is and it seems to be based off vehicle key bindings
