Nice shooting A, especially in the cold with a glock. I learned to shoot a handgun on my grandpa's colt 1911. Then one day went shooting with a friend and his glock 19. totally different feel.

ANYWAYS, I really haven't encountered much spread issues on bf3 or bo2, and have attributed those times where i clearly had a guy in my sights and somehow missed to lag. Now i get why some of those shots missed.

Anyway, it's kind of funny that OP used pistol to make his point, when in BF3 pistols don't get affected by suppression :P

Don't have easy access to AR's in Sweden, or pistols for that matter.. I could get one in ~1 year though :P

And pistols are affected by pistols actually, just not as much or as noticeable :>

And even though I'm using a pistol for this explanation, it's the same story with all other weapons as well

Nice shooting A, especially in the cold with a glock.

Plus a camera on a tripod between my arms and the camera pretty much right in my face ;P (that's why you hear me grunting all the time, the bloody thing was in the way for everything ;o )

Kinda wanted to get a "first person" look of the recoil and aim (though 3rd person would probably be more obvious).. Sort of worked, but no way I could get the sights into the picture and still be able to aim properly + not mess up the stance straddling the tripod..

G17C is glitched and gets uber supression... +1.5 spread increase per shot.

Having just finished my 500 kills with the G17C, I thought something was up.

It usually has very accurate hipfire thanks to its laser sight, but I noticed that whenever an enemy shot near me the hipfire crosshairs would suddenly become obscenely huge.

Now I know why.

Does this apply to G17c supp.? Data file browser is down so I can't check.

Yes, it's the same thing with a suppressor attachment.

The only thing I dislike about suppression is that I get no reward for actually hitting my shots. You should suppress more on hits because knowing that you're hit and probably going to die should be inherently more terrifying than knowing that the other guy has Stormtrooper Syndrome.
the reward for hitting is that their health goes down and you may kill them...

Let's say I hit them 4x at 20m with the AK74m. In the same amount of time, they miss me 15x with the FAMAS. Now my minspread is 1.5 and I'll never hit them a fifth time. That's why suppression is stupid.

The point of suppression is to replicate something that does not exist in a video game: fear for your life. In reality, if the same scenario above would have happened, you wouldn't be standing in the open trying to make that 5th shot if he puts 15 bullets down range at you. That's going to make you duck your head for cover, run away, whatever. And even if say he was such a horrible shot and it's obvious the bullets aren't hitting you yet.... the pressure that the next bullet COULD hit you will greatly increase your adrenaline, and you will likely rush your next shot.

I enjoy the suppression mechanic, because it also puts into play fireteam mechanics. One fireteam provides suppression on the enemy, while the 2nd fireteam flanks. Very basic, brutally effective, both in real life and BF3.

Don't get me wrong, I love the flavor of the mechanic, I just dislike how it's been implemented. I agree with suppression in BF3, I don't feel like it should take half a mag of random (missed) fire to suppress someone until they can't shoot back. I'd like to see ARs suppress 5% instead of 7% per shot, increased area over which shots suppress, and double suppression on direct hits.
