Any TV MIssile advice ?

Im looking for advice on tv missiles. Yes its simple, just guide it with a mouse... but any of you using any special mouse settings or anything ?
Back in BF2 it was a lot easier for me, clicking on a screen to guide a missile was pretty effective. Now it seems like i miss the target at a very last moment.

I can't give any mouse settings since I play on console, but when you guide it, you should lead to put the side of the crosshair on the nose of the heli when you go for those shots. If you can get good with it, you can avoid those annoying heat seeker battles with other helis.
#3 RHIB pilot on PS3. I'm kinda a big deal.

Incest is intriguing, due to the taboos placed upon it in our society. It can be a beautiful thing, and it should be explored more.

I think I'll go be gay.

Eh, you need to communicate with the pilot to get the nose right to fire that warp speed tv missile.
I also recommend never firing the thing if you're pretty close to the ground.. like 50-100ft off the ground would sometimes cause the damn bird to go nuts and plummet to the ground. (like something hit it)

On ground targets I've found its better to aim low. Its almost like the missile bounces into the target.

Remember that just like when aiming your sights at a running target, lead 'em a little has your coming. The camera angle is a little weird. Your POV is directly in front of the missile so tailing behind you. I think that's where a lot of the aim low on vehicles comes from when dropping the missile on a target at an angle. When I'm gunning in a heli I change my mouses sensitivity on the fly. Took a lot of experimenting but eventually i found what works for me.

I was working on binding the missile to wasd + mouse and use both. A combination of large sharp turns and one to fine tune aim. I only got it half way working and messes using any vehicle and its controls though.... :/

You've come to the right place =)

If you want to destroy a vehicle you need to feel its movement direction. Keep in mind that if a tank is moving with a constant speed and then just suddenly stops for no reason, it is likely even best TV missile operators will miss (you just don't have much time and space to change your trajectory). Sometimes I manage to switch from 1600 DPI to 3200 on my mouse in the last moment, but that doesn't always work. (Btw, my settings: 1600 DPI, windows sensitivity by default, BF3 vehicle sensitivity bar filled about 20%). I wouldn't recommend very high sensitivity as the missile may become crazy.

Few advices:
1. If you want to disable a ground vehicle - land the missile on (preferably on a flat) ground near a vehicle. This increases your chances to disable it because TV missile is bugged and has a chance of 40% to do 0 damage to ground vehicles.
2. If you hit a helicopter, in about 95% of cases you will do a kill/doublekill, so the missile rarely fails against helis. Again, you need to be good at predicting them. Watch my video in the sig (Do you love TV missile as I do?), you can see some principles... If an enemy heli is higher than yours - you must aim your TV missile higher, crosshair must be a bit above the target (as you may see it on 00:59).
3. Jets are harder to kill, even if they are predictable (attacking ground vehicles or even your heli). Don't try to kill them when he does crazy stunts, it is likely you will miss as jets are faster than you an have unlimited fuel =)
4. Play on low ping servers. (self-explanatory)

Cool, thanks for everyone's advice. Been messing around with mouse sensitivity and it seems like got it almost where i want it.
Yesterday i installed BF2 just to see what it was like on there , and tv missile had less maneuvering abilities but it was very precise on hitting where i wanted it to hit...

Another question.
Is there a faster way of switching between tv back to cannon once tv been fired ? Pretty often i find my self in situations where i have to quickly switch back to cannon (for what ever reason) but i cant do it till tv runs out of fuel or crashes into something.

Press E to exit.

Agree with the others on aiming. Try to hit the nearby ground of enemy land vehicles because direct hits are bugged as hell. ALWAYS GO FOR THE AA FIRST. That is your greatest utility as a TVM gunner. Ask your pilot to line you up if he's unaware of the AA.

Against attack choppers, you have to lead quite a bit unless the guy is hovering. Take a look at some TVM compilations on Youtube - you'll see that the person is always steering the missile to where he thinks the heli will fly to from the get go. If the chopper is diving or moving at top speed, you'll have to lead so much that the target almost disappears from your screen. Don't even bother keeping your crosshairs on target and adjusting your aim - it won't work. TVM destroys choppers about almost 100% of the time, very rarely will it hit a chopper with no damage dealt.

You can pretty much steer normally without all that crazy leading against scout helis because they are as agile as a turtle and always seem to be preoccuppied with hovering about, blaring their miniguns or locking onto something. If they are evading, they are still very easy to hit because they are so freaking slow. My personal favourite targets to TV; sometimes I'll prioritise the scout over the AA in the hopes of getting an easy quad kill.

I've hit a jet exactly once with the TVM. And it was on a head-on collision course. In short - don't bother unless you're dogfighting because 90% of the time there's a better and easier target to spend your 15s reload on.

You can kill infantry by hitting the ground near them. Works about 80% of the time. Most of my infantry kills were dumb luck where I missed the vehicle. Useful for baseraping since you can snipe accurately while out of reach of anti air fire, but in most other situations your cannon will serve you better.

I use the TVM while my pilot is flying low all the time. It is extremely useful as a one-two punch at point blank range against tanks because the cannon damage is horrid now. If you cannon runs out, you might as well fire off a missile during the reload.

I don't know about the effects of bad ping because the servers I play on all have 5ms ping.

Oye, the TV missile is the only thing that makes me wish I had a mouse when playing. That thing is god awful to steer with a controller. Doesn't help that it inverts controls automatically when firing it and there is no way to change it that I can find.

If you are in a heli alone - you can switch instantly to a pilot place by F1. Otherwise, rocket must "die" before you switch to a cannon (No logic here - I think this is a DICE mistake though...)
