Where and How did Symthic.com get their weapon stats?

Just out of curiosity, where are all these detailed weapon stats coming from?
Is Symthic.com partnered with the game developers or they use some kinda built-in source codes to determine these stats?
How credible are they?
Sorry for sounding like an idiot.

Most of the data is gained from the Game Files.

If you go to the BF3 charts, look at the tab labeled Game Files. Under that, you will be able to see the extracted game data files. With a bit of practice, they're not too hard to interpret and the charts are generated from them.

I have only seen the charts somewhat incorrect in one of two circumstances:
1) Typos
2) Bugs in the gamefiles (MP5K has two different recoil values in the files, JNG-90 has a magazine size modifier only used in Gun Master, etc.)
Generally, everything I see in-game matches rather closely to what one would think from seeing the charts.
All things considered, they're very accurate.

To some extent, I can read the files as well. And from my time perusing them I can say that the charts are usually correct.

Oh, and about sounding like a idiot--I had the same reaction when I stumbled onto the DenKirson charts a few years ago for Bad Company 2. Been there, done that. I know exactly what you mean.

tl;dr
The charts work, we read the gamefiles to make them, they're generally right.

I'm sorry, where are these "BF3 charts" located? Are they in the Battlefield 3 installation directory? (e.g. C:/Program Files....Battlefield3 )
I've looked everywhere in the BF3 directory, but couldn't seem to find a folder calls "Game Files".
Could you be more specific? Thanks

Click the BF3 tab on the top of the page. Then click the icon that looks like a piece of paper with 3 orange lines.

I've checked the Game Data Files, but that didn't explain where Symthic.com got them from.

DICE has sent me all the files that are in xml format and the rest are extracted from normal BF3 files that everyone have in their installation folder.

The site seems to be in 3 parts:
45% is Data collected from DICE/BF3 Gamefiles and displayed in a simple, intuitive and easy to read format (Graphs basically)
45% results and information collected from fans of the game who decide to see if they can resolve a specific issue
10% Nick trying to get a new Telly :D
