Shalan, any chance you can expand on this? I'm not doubting what you are saying, but according to this post, the biggest losers are the the Storm variants, and all Mondragons :

Medic Rifle Scoring: Prelim. TTK 2.0 Edition

I couldn't tell you what he means when he says that Storm variants are the biggest losers. He even admitted that the SIPS buff results in an effective buff to Storm, Trench and Sweeper variants in a previous thread he made. Also, his rankings assume that vertical recoil doesn't exist. That certainly doesn't hold true when I play with a controller (maybe it does for others).

Generally speaking, before the update I found Storm variants to be spread limited and Optical variants to be recoil limited. But with the spread buffs, Storm variants essentially have Storm and Optical modifiers applied, whereas Optical variants have Optical modifiers applied twice. It's pretty obvious which is now the more balanced between the two.

The Farquhar Hill Storm now feels as though it can fire it at max RPM without spread OR recoil throwing off your aim; it's seriously good now.

I said Storm weapons are losers because there is still little reason to use them over Optical/Factory variants unless your HRec is more than 0.5 to each side (e.g. Gen. Liu). I believed that TTK 2.0 would make Storm weapons more compelling as did most of us on here. We were wrong, and that is the origin of my comment.

I play with a controller, and I definitely can compensate for a significant portion of VRec once I am used to the fire pattern of a weapon. The reason I ignore VRec is that incorporating it into the model provides an unrealistic number of misses that are uncharacteristic of actual gameplay.

As for the F-H Storm, it already has so little HRec that you are just wasting the spread bonuses of the Optical variant. Same with the Mondragon.

If you have questions, just ask :)

Fair enough, I just feel like I can land shots on target quicker with Storm variants than Optical ones now. There are also other factors such as having a 1.00x magnification, a quicker ADS time and less obstructive sights.

I guess the confusion was in calling fhe Storm variants losers, when you meant that they hadn't gained enough ground to overtake their counterparts. Because they certainly did gain the most ground.

With the F-H Storm, I guess the reason I love it so much is because there's virtually no VRec to compensate for. That and the AL8 .25 Extended are my absolute favourites now; I agree with your assessment that the latter was the biggest winner.

I think this is a valid stylistic choice, but definitely focuses on a more spammy style of SLR usage. And definitely - the AL8 .25 is now hands-down the best CQC SLR.

As a side note, the C-R Factory is absolutely worth giving a go if you like the F-H Storm - max RPM center mass is no trouble for it out to 35 or 40 m and better TTK as a bonus.

Hmm I did try it, but more than double the HRec, half the capacity and a horrible reload just doesn't get the job done for me.

I find the HRec barely noticeable even at 1.5x, and I love the bullpup mod benefits.

To my knowledge there are no actual 'bullpup mods' for weapons in BF1; the different moving spread stats are there as a result of having different, unmodified, blueprint stats than others.
To Aim Assist or not to Aim Assist, that is the question.
