On BF1 new-ish reload mechanics

Some weapons nowadays have more dynamic reload mechanics depending on how many bullets they have. Symthic was not designed at all for anything like this, so we have to resort dumping these values on site in a messier list.
Here's the current list (hopefully quite correct). The patch will be online on site at some point.

Thanks for sharing all of this!

I personally don't even try to compare reload speeds in Battlefield 1. It was much easier in most earlier Battlefield games when we were talking about guns that were usually reloaded with full detachable magazines, or individual rounds in some uncommon cases (mostly shotguns). With Battlefield 1, we have to memorize detachable magazine reloads, stripper clip reloads, hopper-full-of-feed-strip reloads, individual round reloads for a large percentage of weapons (rifles, shotguns, most revolvers), and whatnot. It's just gotten significantly more complicated, and understandably so for the sake of authentic animations (though there's still some room for improvement).

That being said, I would welcome, with open arms, the "Mosin-Nagant" treatment for most of the clip-loaded Medic rifles (Mondragon, Cei-Rigotti, Autoloading 8 .35, and Selbstlader M1906). Those guns take too damn long to reload unless you fire just enough ammo for a stripper clip reload.

Me too, it feels so much nicer than the vanilla reloads.

Shooting the Liu empty and then reloading is faster than 1 bullet left reloading?

Barely, but yes it seems so. Not surprising they're nearly identical, as the only difference is with one round left your soldier pulls the bolt back manually, whereas when it runs empty it locks open automatically after the last shot. After that they're exactly the same.

If/when they get the bolt action mode working however, reloading with one left or from empty in bolt mode would both share the with-one-left animation, as the bolt is of course not cycling automatically.

What exactly would switching to bolt action mode do?

Did they have any ideas?

Most likely give it (near?) perfect accuracy with a damage model similar to the other straight-pull rifle in the game, the M.95. Basically, it would be a gun that can swap between a slightly worse M1906 and a straight pull BA. Notably, however, it can't have any optics at all, which should also balance this well.

Would the Mondragon ever get this kind of functionality?

Also will we get more "dynamic" reloads for the other bolt actions anytime in the future? The Mosin's are so beautiful.

I would hope the Mondragon gets the bolt action mode too, though I can't see redoing the older reload animations being especially likely.
