Anyone else having a real inconsistent time with shotguns lately?

Not like a damage or range nerf or anything but it just feels like shots aren't registering.

Avoid using shotguns this patch. Rounds are not registering for some reason.

I've seen claims of the M10 Slug working as intended, but all buckshot (including tank buckshot and even trench darts) aren't working properly.

Damn, and here I was hoping to test out the backbored variants.

Anything from DICE on the issue?

So support has its hipfire min and max spread increased (in all stances, while both stationary and moving). The Huot (both variants) is conspicuously missing from this list, but in general this a bullshit change (if anything, it should be a global hipfire spread increase for all classes, not a singling out). Support LMGs are consistently the least utilized weapon categories of the big 4 (SMGs, SLRs, BAs, and LMGs), so I don't see why you would nerf them. And, it wasn't like the trench LMG variants had as good hipfire as the non-trench SMGs (let alone the trench SMGs).

Feels like a bit of a weird nerf to make.

What's that mean for the sawed off though exactly?

According to my criteria, here are the primary weapons that actually perform BETTER in Hipfire than your average sidearm.

Simply put, if you are using them, and you know you will be in a CQB situation, you should keep them in your hands. If you are NOT, then you are better served to pull out your secondary, and proceed with that instead.

Assault
No surprise here. Unless you have the Ribeyrolles and the Hellriegel, you should keep it.
  1. Automatico M1918 Trench
  2. MP 18 Trench
  3. 12g Automatic Hunter
  4. Sjögren Inertial Factory
  5. 12g Automatic Backbored
  6. Automatico M1918 Factory
  7. 12g Automatic Extended
  8. Automatico M1918 Storm
  9. M97 Trench Gun Backbored
  10. MP 18 Experimental
  11. MP 18 Optical
  12. M97 Trench Gun Hunter
  13. Model 10-A Slug

Medic
The Sweeper JUST missed the cut. Consider that one to be a toss-up.
  1. M1907 SL Trench
  2. Cei-Rigotti Trench
  3. Autoloading 8 .35 Factory
  4. Autoloading 8 .25 Extended

Scout
Well, perhaps again no surprise here... the result is NONE. Only the Experimental comes close, but otherwise Scouts on objectives should have the Frommer Stop, Bodeo 1889 or Mle M1903 in hand.
  1. None

Support
Finally, the class affected by this update. Whereas before you might be able to get away with keeping your Low Weight LMG... or even the BAR Telescopic (!?!?) in CQB Hipfire, now you pretty much HAVE to use the 2 Trench variants. Otherwise, it should be the Bulldog, Beretta M1915 and again the Mle M1903 in your hand.
  1. BAR 1918 Trench
  2. Madsen MG Trench

-----

Here is the updated Support ranking, Hipfire Moving and Not Moving, 1m to 25m, 1m increments. Primary in Red, Secondary in Yellow.

  1. BAR 1918 Trench
  2. Madsen MG Trench
  3. Bulldog
  4. Beretta M1915
  5. Mle M1903
  6. Borchard C93
  7. Steyr M1912
  8. M1911
  9. Chauchat Low Weight
  10. Huot Automatic Low Weight
  11. P08 Pistol
  12. Madsen MG Low Weight
  13. Huot Automatic Optical
  14. Chauchat Telescopic
  15. BAR 1918 Storm
  16. No. 3 Revolver
  17. Madsen MG Storm
  18. M1909 Benet-Mercie Storm
  19. Lewis Gun Low Weight
  20. BAR 1918 Telescopic
  21. Lewis Gun Suppressive
  22. M1909 Benet-Mercie Optical
  23. M1909 Benet-Mercie Telescopic
  24. Lewis Gun Optical
  25. MG15 N.A. Low Weight
  26. MG15 N.A. Storm
  27. MG15 N.A. Suppressive

Interesting changes. Anybody have an idea of the dev's rationale behind them?

2 possibilities:

1. To emphasize their, overall, poor close range performances.

2. The first step in DICE gunplay dev's weapon rebalancing.

Quoted from "DICE-RandomDeviation"

I'm actually working on a pretty significant weapon rebalance right now to try to get some more variation between existing weapons, and to get myself some more design space for future ones.

The nerf to MG hipfire seems to be a possible tradeoff for better performance at mid range. I guess we'll see.
To Aim Assist or not to Aim Assist, that is the question.

Nope. Aim Assist or bust; here's why:

the Sebstalder is quiet good since it can 3hit kill at any distanc ,but In my opinion i actually thikn the sweeper is better, its got a really really fast firerate that can beat alll those Noobmaticos, Helregall adn shitguns in close quarters , and its also really accurate out to like l;ong range,. overall great allround gun, jsut my 2$ tho
