Is there any way to know details about spread and overheat? I mention this because in my experience the zeppelin MGs seem to have far more spread than the stationary or vehicle mounted variants. With the stationary it is easy to hit long range targets repeatedly, but with the airship MGs I often find it impossible to counter AA gunners on the ground. Had a round the other day on Scar where I just fired away for about 1-2 minutes at an AA. We were hovering over A and he was on the AA at B. The shots just refuse to go straight. I could clearly see the tracers going all over the place. I got one random hit on him and that was all. The other MGs seem to fire very straight though. I'm not sure if DICE has done this intentionally to limit the MGs on the zep for AA use only.

Ok, so the zep MG has a much higher max spread angle right? does that mean they don't use reverse spread and should therefore be tap fired for maximum precision? I find the stationary can generally just hit by firing full auto indefinitely, but maybe the zep one should be fired single shot to hit AA guns on the ground? I'm pretty sure the Zeppelin's HMG is intended for damaging/ shooting down planes though, so shooting at the ground will likely be unproductive. ah fair enough. So it starts at Max angle and slowly goes down to min angle. Unfortunately most MGs overheat much faster than the stationary one and don't get much time at min spread

Oh, and I misunderstood what you wanted to know by overheat earlier. While the reload time is how long it takes to 'recharge' from overheating I do not know how many bullets can be fired before overheating occurs.

This in particular is the overheat data for the Armored Cars, however I don't know how these values impact the mechanic:
