That's a really a console oriented fix, hold vs click to zoom just isn't an issue on PC when controlling via mouse and so the dogfighter has always retained that capability to do that on PC.

Trench is still the better fighter for infantry ground attack because of the spotting capability from the flares, blob killing, and the ability of the darts to kill infantry in buildings through windows and via entering through holes in the roof.

I've been considering ditching trench/darts for bomberkiller/rockets, since the rockets allow you to destroy stationary AA before they are manned... But I couldn't give up the flares. The speed bost, and the repair in the dogfighter, are really good in the air, but not so good against ground, and I like to PTFO.
Keep in mind that there is significant acceleration on mouse movement in planes, so you lose any advantage of mouse aim, and accordingly many players use a controller or joystick on PC since it is arguably better for things like dogfighting which require constant input of angles (which is perfect for a stick and impossible with a mouse unless you have an infinitely large mousepad)

My "zoom" in fighters toggles camera, toogles zoom, and hugely throws up mouse dpi so I'm getting max possible aim acceleration at least. It's still not great but if you click in/out and only use zoom for micro adjustments you can do good things with the dogfighter.

The thing with the trench is that it can interdict flag caps on it's own using two passes, once to flare, and then you can just do a long vertical loop to come back and dart the map spots.

Being amazing in the air is useful, but the trench can definitely outkill both other fighters in ground attack on even cluttered maps, which IME is actually what you spend most of your time doing. The volume of planes in the sky just isn't that great and honestly....unless it's a really well flown high altitude sniper-bomber, even the tanks can do decent anti bomber work. And the trenchie isn't THAT bad vs air either. I usually do 5-10 infantry kills per plane shot down or so.

It's the same situation with the tanks. Most tanking is derping infantry, and so survivable driver HE capacity is the most important thing for me.

For most of the tanks the zoom is so shitty you don't really spend much time in it, it's really just slight aim refinement before you fire off so IME hold to zoom just works better. I typically fight from reverse slope positions and fire from external camera as much as possible anyway.

I just happened across a post/video on a PC hacker who gave himself the Sjögren shotgun (Factory variant), because apparently the French weapons are in the files. Not sure if linking said post/video is allowed, but can anyone find the actual guns in the files? As with the Alpha/Beta, the patch is considered public and fair game (unlike hacking), so no reason not to share the values/etc.

the Sebstalder is quiet good since it can 3hit kill at any distanc ,but In my opinion i actually thikn the sweeper is better, its got a really really fast firerate that can beat alll those Noobmaticos, Helregall adn shitguns in close quarters , and its also really accurate out to like l;ong range,. overall great allround gun, jsut my 2$ tho

Oh right, those two have always been in the files in some capacity, though I didn't realized they were actually fully playable. I guess the more relevant question is whether the other French guns are in, since they're the actual new ones.

According to the files, the Aperture Sight could be used on the Sjogren. This isn't a guarantee, but it's plausible. No other French DLC weapons are within the weapon section, just the Sjogren.

Also in the basic Sjogren file reside other accessories that can be used to tell us what variants might exist: Narrow choke, Spreader Choke, Compensator, and a Buckhorn Sight (along with the Aprerture). Then the modifiers Monogrip (Hrecoil), Compensator, Standard Barrel, and No underbarrel appear in the GunSway data.

My preliminary guess for variants: Hunter/ Factory, Sweeper, Slug.

According to the files, the Aperture Sight could be used on the Sjogren. This isn't a guarantee, but it's plausible. No other French DLC weapons are within the weapon section, just the Sjogren.

False alarm on the DLC then, but I'm shocked it's actually implemented to the point of having fully completed weapon animations and everything; it's entirely there and functional.

That would make sense for variants, making it a very versatile platform, which itself makes sense as it's a very middle-of-the-road gun. Could the Aperture sight be the Slug's Optical lens sights?

That's my thought. I wouldn't think of any other reason why there'd be an Aperture Sight for a Shotgun.

I should mention that the current projectile data does not include the Slug. However the data we have on the Sjogren might be incomplete, so we'll need to wait and see until the Expansion releases for complete certainty.

the Sebstalder is quiet good since it can 3hit kill at any distanc ,but In my opinion i actually thikn the sweeper is better, its got a really really fast firerate that can beat alll those Noobmaticos, Helregall adn shitguns in close quarters , and its also really accurate out to like l;ong range,. overall great allround gun, jsut my 2$ tho
