In ADS paced shots (shoot-recover-shoot), no difference, due to despite halved Spread Decrease rate, Spread Increase Per Shot also halved, so they cancel each other out.

In ADS max-RPM rapid-fire, the Marksman / Optical is better due to SIPS buff.

In Hipfire, the Marksman / Optical is WORSE, due to same Hitrate as Factory but 2x longer SDec.

So now the 1906 "Factory" is now a "Marksman," with all of the pluses and minuses that implies, but the name is not changed. Honestly, that doesn't sit well with me. It is a "Marksman," so call it as such.

It should also get that "Vertical Foregrip" in the 3D model, plus less (for me, but more for others) importantly the "Marksman Scope." Unless it does... I haven't checked. Maybe I should.

All right, let think about this nerf more logicly. I always adore those cqb killing machine. because they have a huge flaw, how to get into the close quarter easier or how to create those environment that favor me? This for me is the skill gap on how to play those guns. But in bf1, those things are gone. all you need to do is just toss a gas nade on your feet and than spray and prey all day long. this is ridiculous. And Trench make this matter even worse. Your hip-fire is sooo good. It is almost incompetible and did I mention you get two gas nade?

The nerf to storm IMO is more toward tune down the stability for 1918 and limit the range it can have. But I don't think this nerf will make huge impact. since trench still dominate the usage of automatic

I don't see how gassing yourself and spraying is supposed to be a sign that you don't need to consider how to close gaps or create CQB-favorable scenarios.

In fact, the gas grenade is a tool that is used pretty much for creating a scenario favorable for good hipfire. Not sure why you are complaining.

BF1 has some troublesome engagement mechanics in my view.

The core flags tend to be densely covered to the point where hipfire weapons, especially when combined with gas, can totally dominate the fight for specific flag radius.

However with the dearth of fast movers and the relatively wide open dead zones between flags, if you get engaged while transitioning from flag to flag you are basically toast with nowhere to hide, doubly so if an enemy vehicle is on overwatch.

That is to say when transitioning it doesn't really matter what weapons you have short of a BA and amazing response times, since you're probably going to lose.

So to me this really sets up a very "all or nothing" situation that really favours gas + hipfire at point blank ranges.
