Hitrater

Might I ask where or how someone would go about calculating BF1 hitrates?

Unless it's hidden in some bowels of the site, I'm not seeing it. The only resource I can find to it is a 2013 thread made by AdmiralGiggles, with an invalid download link to a programme that could do it.

Here's a freshly compiled version (checked it myself, looks clean): MEGA

Source ("bit" outdated though): GitHub - DennisWandschura/HitraterV2
Links to users' thread list who have made analytical/statistical/mathematical/cool posts on Symthic:
  • 3VerstsNorth - Analysis of game mechanics in BF4 (tickrates, effects of tickrate, etc)
  • leptis - Analysis of shotguns, recoil, recoil control and air drag.
  • Veritable - Scoring of BF4/BF1 firearms in terms of usability, firing and other mechanics.
  • Miffyli - Random statistical analysis of BF4 battlereports/players and kill-distances. (list is cluttered with other threads).
Sorry if your name wasn't on the list, I honestly can't recall all names : ( . Nudge me if you want to be included

Thank you very much!

I wonder if it's possible to implement something like that in the advanced weapon info and weapon comparison sections on the site? A line chart of different body parts hitrate over distance would be really useful for visitors to tell at a glance the performance of guns at certain distances.

@pTowel

That has been brought up few times on forums and I have thought about it too. It could be interesting to do and not too difficult, but I am personally way too busy (thesis, studies) to start such projects outside updating the main page itself :s.

@Miffyli

I see, that's a bit unfortunate but at least there's hitrater for people who really need to figure it out.

Also I'm a bit confused over the inputs and outputs. For example, when I'm trying to calculate for the BAR Telescopic, I plug in the following inputs:

If I'm reading the output correctly, the BAR Telescopic has an 85% chance to hit the body at 12m with the first bullet? But that seems wrong.

Asked AdmiralGiggles: Each row tells you distance, chance of hitting and number of bullets hit. E.g. the row you have opened tells you: "at 12m, 73% chance of hitting and 2.19 bullets of burst of 3 hit".

The values "under" each row tell per-bullet chance of hitting. The first value is chance of first bullet hitting, second is second etcetc.

Well, the thing is, 12m is basically spitting range. And the BAR only has an 85% chance to land the first shot, which has a 0.16 spread? I don't think that's right.

Multiple ranges is broken last I heard so don't use it.

Besides, range step size of 1m is too small. Use 10.

Fantastic tool! Can I just ask the two values for "AIM," what do they do exactly? Also, what is the effect when raising the left one to a value of 0.1 and the right to 1.0?
