Holy shit, do all the SLRs have Trench hipfire now? It's amazing, I approve this buff 110%

The Cei Rigotti Factory and M1907 Sweeper definitely have much tighter hipfire, and it makes it SO much more easier to aggressively push. Really, really hope they keep this particular change

I also did NOT link the thread so everyone could circlejerk and laugh at noobs or anything of the sort. I was hoping that a few people who actually know what they're talking about may actually post over there to help clear things up, where appropriate. Spreading elitism is also not productive.

Reddit is a slight step above the Official Battlefield Forums. Slight. There's still too much nonsense for me to ever want to discuss things there.
To Aim Assist or not to Aim Assist, that is the question.

Nope. Aim Assist or bust; here's why:

There wasn't any mention of improved Hip spread. Spread increase ADS and Hip was reduced to 0.2 from 0.25, but that's it. Unless there was another change I am unaware of.

@JSLICE20

You missed to quote me here, I guess. :D

Oak_Beard is right. From the knowledge we had at the time he made that thread there was no other conclusion that could be made. Adjustment is a term that does not spring to mind when talking about such a huge change. Clickbait on a page like reddit is largely irrelevant, I guess. I never heard about recoilscale before, and it was verly likely never really discussed here, as it was irrelevant, so of course nobody saw that coming, it was Labby who clarified it just today.

While I still think symthic is a decent place overall, and nobody gets shunned here, but the tone has definitely changed, it has been like this for a while, and you know it. The sense of entitlement and elitism is real, and I have no idea where that came from. If I was an average joe with no college degree, I would definitely think twice before posting my uneducated questions here or even dare fielding an opinion. I explained this a lot of times, I am not political correct at all, but it is darn easy to be a dick on the Internet, that is why I try not to be. An imperative some people should follow here as well.

On the topic at hand, somebody should just bloody well explain what this recoil scale is really about, how it works, and why they decided to make it relevant. I mean yeah I can sort of guess why and some people know what it does, but try explaining the guy, who visits symthic just for the stats, why the Selbstlader suddenly has a total of 1.2 degress of Hrec. Same can be said about the fellows that educate themselves on weapons through gameplay videos.

This is the hip spread of the Sweeper while moving and firing the first shot, just to illustrate

EDIT: It appears NoctryneSaga already addressed this in a Reddit post, the hipfire crosshair now accurately scales to your FOV. There is no actual hipfire accuracy buff

so, i'm not sure if it can be said objectively, but so far in cte, at least in close range, the chauchat definitely feels op, it's a death dispenser, people in the cte thought i was joking when i said the chauchat was op, but if you think abut it, why are the model 8 variants not op? because the fasterand longer you fire, the worse the weapon becomes, bu tthe chauchat has
1: a bipod
2: lmg spread
3: a 20 round mag

359 rpm on that thing makes it op, it can saw in half people in close range(it felt awesome to be able go head-to-head against automatico users i admit) and while it isn't good, it can still be used at mid and long range thanks to the bipod and relatively mild recoil, add to that the amazing hipfire...

really, if it wasn't that the 3hk range is basically shotgun distance, even the most blind players would notice it's op, when like this is more like... borderline op i guess, to be honest i'm not sure myself, it's just a very different gun from the other lmgs, an slr-lmg hybrid, and i'm not sure if it's too good or not for what it brings to the table, it still has limitations after all.

I fell for this trap too. I thought they slammed the SLRs hard too since the change in recoil scale isn't transparent/obvious anywhere, and it isn't explicitly mentioned that they are basically reworking the SLR recoil mechanics.

Typical case of "huge change" not effectively communicated to the target audience.

Quoted

Made recoil decrease smoother
Most recoil values were tweaked, but are not comparable to previous releases

I don't see the issue with the patch notes. No numbers were mentioned because they are not comparable anyway.

Reddit is a slight step above the Official Battlefield Forums. Slight. There's still too much nonsense for me to ever want to discuss things there.
I agree. symthic forums has bred the stupidity out of me.
