If they made BF1 more like BF1942 or BF4, I'd still come back to it.

But alas, they made BF1 into a more hand-holding game with too confined gamemodes and too small and badly thought out maps. The linearity and dumb meatgrinding aspects Operations 64 (and 40)players is incredibly frustrating for players used to the BF-way of things. It kills creativity and angles of approach.

''Well, why not stick to Conquest?'' Sad to say, conquest, the main staple of BF got a stab in the back in BF1. For the obvious reasons.

Lest not forget the mandatory introduced DLC-featured content like the weak and wonky naval combat on maps that offer a frustrating experience to both infantry, planes and ships. This may sound pretentious, but I think BF1 has so far been a b1tchslap to the BF thought.

I downloaded BF4 again and had the opportunity to play a little Chain-Link and Dragon Valley 2k15...

The game feels a lot faster but god, that's just way too fast for me. That's one thing I like about BF1, movement might be horrible, but gameplay feels slower so I can keep pace.

Yea, BF4 is pretty much an ADHD shooter, while in a lot of ways BF1 is a lot slower (Still a lot faster than refractor era tho)

Good. More people playing it, more cool content for more people. Especially since it's the best DLC.

The game came out a year and seven months ago, and BF2018 is set to be announced in less than two weeks. It's absolutely time for the DLC to be made free for everyone.

I'm fine with eventually giving out DLC, but BF1 has completely devalued the season pass subscription system with a horrible release schedule and overall poor value added considering first the discounts before 3/4 of the DLC even dropped, and now freebies.

You can't sell a day-1 subscription service and then devalue it before most of the content was even delivered.

I've certainly wisened up to the fact that premium has little value, and I hope the concept fails in 2018.

Talking about annoying things, that I did not know where to put. Has anybody seen this from Battlefield's facebook feed?

BATTLEFIELD 5 Teaser Trailer (2018) Battlefield V PS4/Xbox One/PC - YouTube

If that is indeed a thing, than they confirmed WWII at least as a part of the scenario. Two days before the actual reveal, too. But maybe they will switch eras similar to Black Ops, now that CoD borrows so much from BF that DICE might do the same.

Battlefield V - Official Reveal Trailer - YouTube (WARNING: The comments below the video are cancer)

I try not to put too much in trailers, but Jesus H. Christ this is a hot mess... I know a lot of players didn't care for the slower-paced play of BF1 and said the history lessons and period-correct weapons/vehicles were boring, but EA/DICE has WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY overcompensated to the other extreme... I don't know if we should call this "WW2 Hardline" or "Wolfenstein 3" or "Metal Gear Solid: Cobra's Revenge" instead?

I mean, why even base this in WWII if they aren't going to try being 1% true to history?? No recognizable uniforms or class roles or objectives and no halfway coherent flow of battle? 30 mph tanks? Fighter planes flying 50 feet above the ground? (I know stupidly low flying planes is a tradition in BF trailers, but that doesn't make it any less stupid) Seriously, aside from the weapons and vehicles, absolutely NOTHING I could see places this action in the 1940s... Might as well put it in modern-day or at least make it some type of Wolfensteiney version of alt history or something. I thought CoD WWII was lackluster when I tried it but it might as well be Masterpiece Theatre compared to this? Or were they done with 'historical accuracy' after BF1943? Even if they are switching eras like Black Ops 1, nothing excuses this fiasco...

Normally I wouldn't care because I probably wasn't planning to buy it anyway but I'm pissed that they pulled the plug early on Battlefield I and Battlefront II just to bring us THAT... I would have expected better from DICE, especially in an oversaturated genre where high standards have already been set. I just hope there's more to what they've shown us so far; much more... I do hope that DICE shows us some lesser-known battles across multiple theatres instead of making that same old tired D-Day invasion the centerpiece map... I do hope they find some way to pull off some decent naval warfare (WITH SUBS THIS TIME; because there's no possible way to avoid using them) some proper Air Superiority/Bomber Escort or something similar, and a proper, honest-to-god 64-man land vehicle battle which would be the Armored Kill BF3 should have always had...

Back to the topic at hand:

1. Vehicle spawn/class system and the lack of a respawn timer

2. Nobody will ever convince me that pilot/tank driver-specific weapons were ever a good idea, and I hate the thought of abandoning a vehicle early just to have a chance to grind some kills for the codex...

3. Lack of teamwork+mics

4. Getting killed by the same 4-5 weapons all night every night...

5. I know it was mostly done out of necessity in keeping true to the era, but not having any true weapons customization and only being able to select from 2-3 pre-baked versions of weapons pisses me off to no end...

6. Add to this no all-kit weapons or reliable CQC short range option for the Recon class (And yeah, I know and live by the credo that Recons should be good enough to survive off their sidearm/knife in CQC)... It would just be good to have more options.

Is there anything about BF1 that still annoys you?

All the snipers being black for some reason.
