### Symthic BF1 forum for PC or Console too?

Mods, I apologize if this isn't the right section and please move accordingly.

Ok, let me preface the following with the statement that even though I am a filthy casual console player , I am self-aware enough to know that this is perhaps a question that is so easily answered that it may be shocking to some that I am literate.enough to type it.

Is the data and advice in the threads and discussions on Symthic regarding Battlefield 1 "interchangeable" in regards the information in that it applies to all ports of the game PC, Xbox and PS4 unless otherwise stated in the threads? From everything from the behavior of the weapons, the TTK, the nerfs and the buffs to the new game mechanics like specializations, there must be some variance in stats and how they play out?

It is my understanding that the wealth of information that is the heart of Symthic is possible in part due to data mining the patches and updates to Battlefield 1 and the ability to do mine this information is far easier on PC.

Another reason, I am assuming this site is more aimed for the PC players due to the fact that most Battlefield 1 information videos are PC players. When HDR was finally implemented in the official XBOX BF1 game (was in CTE first), I couldn't really find info or threads about the symthic community's take on it or how well it is performing for them (I am constantly having to play with the HDR slider on XBOX X as my Samsung is p[retty goood for the price but it is pretty dim which is not an issue with movies but can be frustrating when I am desperately trying to spot another player in a earth tone uniform on a night map before I am gunned down).

While the internet of today isn't the wild west it was 10 years ago (being filled with both the terrible but also equal parts hope, a resilient pioneer spirit of Manifest Destiny ) , I have renewed hope thanks to the fact that a gem of a forum like Symthic somehow exists in search results alongside the glut of ehow articles, ubiquitous fetish porn and the clusterfuck that is the Official BF1 forum. I am far from feeling like I have a basic grasp on the info in the site because I had absolutely no awareness of the variables and complexities that take place in the avergae lifespan of 10 seconds between when I spawn, fumble a gas grenade, poor a clip into another player and miss all of the shots and then sprint towards a downed player to revive just to have them respawn while I am immediately put down by the guys that shot my team mate.

Thanks in advance and any info you can give me to help me use symthic to its utmost and grow as a player altogether is appreciated.

As far I am aware, yes: BF1 weapons stats should be same across PC and consoles. However I cannot 100% guarantee this.

@NoctyrneSAGA
@Labby

Can you confirm this for me? I know BFH had different stats for PC/consoles at some point, but that was bit of an oddball anyways.

@dejavecu

Wow that's a good bunch of kind words . Indeed there's a lot of things happening behind the scenes, and many manhours have been put into deciphering things over the years.
I thank you for brining a smile on my face!
• 3VerstsNorth - Analysis of game mechanics in BF4 (tickrates, effects of tickrate, etc)
• leptis - Analysis of shotguns, recoil, recoil control and air drag.
• Veritable - Scoring of BF4/BF1 firearms in terms of usability, firing and other mechanics.
• Miffyli - Random statistical analysis of BF4 battlereports/players and kill-distances. (list is cluttered with other threads).
Sorry if your name wasn't on the list, I honestly can't recall all names : ( . Nudge me if you want to be included

Yep, the numbers are all the same.

There are some slight differences in the effects those numbers have depending on tickrate, since large modes on console play at 30hz instead of 60hz, but those differences are usually pretty minor, like a half a frame difference in spread reset time between 30/60hz for some weapons. Everything is identical unless you're getting into the really technical stuff.

@Labby

Is it possible for the effects of Hrecoil or Hrecoil itself to work differently in different tickrate environments?
To Aim Assist or not to Aim Assist, that is the question.

### Quoted from "Labby"

so if you have 1 60hz frame's worth of recoil to recover, that will still take one whole 30hz frame to recover.

Could this also mean that 30Hz will have less recoil to recover from at the end of the frame? Or would it be more recoil?

I have a sneaking suspicion that 30Hz recoil accumulation is less pronounced than 60Hz and it could lead to weapons who are balanced by high Hrecoil (like Hellriegel and MG14) to actually be better than their intention.

The way I interpret Labby (and from what I recall about the inner workings of BF) that means that if recoil or spread recovery takes 1 frame at 60 hz (0.017 seconds), it would technically take "0.5 frames" at 30 Hz. The engine thinks in ticks, however, so instead of taking 0.5/30ths (= 1/60th, 0,017s) of a second, it will take 1/30th of a second, so 0.034 seconds, simply because the engine can't do it any quicker.

The Hellriegel has a recoil decrease of 8/s. That means that at 60hz it decreases by 0.13 every 0.017 seconds, while at 30hz it should decrease by 0.26 every 0.034 seconds. This means that if it takes 15 frames @60hz to recover the accumulated recoil in a given situation (0.25s), it will take 8 frames @30hz (0.27s). A miniscule difference.

All numbers in this post were rounded to make it easier to read while keeping its meaning intact.

Of course, this ignores the non-constant cross-sectional first moment of area across the chest as well as non-constant material properties of the boob; it would be difficult to perform a more detailed analysis (as in, I'd have to have a shape function AND I'd need to derive a function for elastic modulus as a function of lateral breast coordinate) but whatever. It's 2am and I'm lazy.

I always believed science should be very hands on experience.

You should also answer this question I had posed in that thread: Would you be willing to pay your surgeon more if he was going to use a chainsaw for the opening incision of surgery? Clearly using a chainsaw isn't truly suited for surgery but that doesn't really matter. If he's "skilled" enough to be able to use the wrong tools of the trade, he should be rewarded for that skill right?

That's exactly what I meant.

Wow! More replied (always like to see more people reply even if they are saying the same thing to confirm statement) and more useful info beyond what I even thought to ask. Gave rep to all that replied.
