What's the best sidearm for ranges appropriate at the minute?

Was wondering what sidearm is statistically best at the minute? Would love some ideas.

Mle 1903.

I find majority of the complaints I hear about this game somehow never appear in my games.

Statistically:
All-class - FN M1903
Scout - Frommer Stop

Practically:
Scout PC-only - Mars Auto, but FS still rocks if you're playing CQB-style Recon with S-M M1895 Infantry
Support, if you can survive full reload - Webley Bulldog

I don't understand what you mean by "at the minute", but when in doubt, MLE 1903.

Support: Bulldog or Steyr 1912.

Prolly just the hipster way of saying "at the moment".
To Aim Assist or not to Aim Assist, that is the question.

Nope. Aim Assist or bust; here's why:

the Sebstalder is quiet good since it can 3hit kill at any distanc ,but In my opinion i actually thikn the sweeper is better, its got a really really fast firerate that can beat alll those Noobmaticos, Helregall adn shitguns in close quarters , and its also really accurate out to like l;ong range,. overall great allround gun, jsut my 2$ tho

I'm confused to whether the OP is asking for what would be the best long(ish) ranged handguns or what would be the best handguns in the ranges handguns are normally used at.

For the best long(ish) range handguns. Kit-exclusive ones, it'd be the Gasser M1870 for Assault, Mauser C96 for Medic, Steyr M1912 for Support, and Mars Automatic for Recon due to the their raw minimum damage outputs per shot. However, it must still be noted that the best "long range" handguns are still poor at what can actually be considered as long ranges. The Gasser M1870 and Mars Automatic pack a wallop, but they generally don't allow for quick enough follow-up shots to reliably kill somebody, whom has a significant amount of health left, at long range. It seems like the upcoming Nagant M1895 may possibly be a game-changer for those that want more range from their sidearm. I'm assuming it's using a damage model similar or identical to the Mars Automatic or Pieper M1893.

If we are talking close quarters, 1911 or 1903 Pocket hammerless for Assault even Howdah is an okay pistol. Medic best is the Auto Revolver ofc , Taschenpistole 1914 and 1911, Support is Bulldog , 1911 and Steyr 1912 is also pretty nice. Sniper is Bodeo, Frommer stop , 1911.

It not only depends on range but for me I usually base it on what primary I'm using. For support especially, if I'm going lower capacity like the Huot or Chauchat where I may run of shots during a mid-range fight then I go with the M1912 but if I have a high capacity primary like the MG15 or Lewis then I go for the Bulldog, as the only time I'm going to need the sidearm is during very close range fights where high dps is all that matters.

I personally love how extreme a weapon the bulldog is. It just completely sacrifices accuracy, damage drop off and reload speed in order to have insane close range damage, high fire rate and quick draw speed. It doesn't even try to compromise between the various stats. Perfect for its role.
