Do I like Aim Assist? No, but until I can finally turn the fucking stick acceleration off I have to keep both Slowdown and Auto Rotation on. Close quarters is incredibly frustrating without it because the muscle memory just isn't there.

I want to make one thing clear I have no issue with slowdown, a noob with slowdown wont be able to snap onto you while you slide peek them they actually have to aim on there own.

Please explain why you need to use auto rotation and snap onto people? Do you have issues with your DS4 or something? It kind of sounds as if your making excuses for wanting to leave auto aim on I personally don't care what you decide to do but will argue that its not needed at all.

If I was to change my sensitivity for example (I play on max BTW) I wouldn't put on auto aim just because I am yet to form muscle memory.

Help me understand why you feel this way im interested.

Please explain why you need to use auto rotation and snap onto people?

It's not that I am incapable of aiming on my own power, but it's that the Auto Rotation just works faster and more efficient than my own abilities can manage. I turned it off for a good month or two and in that time I noticed I was losing a crapton of gunfights that I would normally win with Auto Rotation enabled. So I flipped it back on and voila, gunfights are in my favor again. I really dislike that the Auto Rotation operates in such a quick fashion, because it places you at a severe disadvantage if you have it off compared to those who have it on unless your aim is top notch. I used to have top notch aim in BF3 and could aim, track, and kill without Aim Assist with relative ease, but some mechanics or my dexterity prowess (maybe I suck now) has changed since then.
To Aim Assist or not to Aim Assist, that is the question.

Nope. Aim Assist or bust; here's why:

As a console scrub, I use the snap-to but not the slowdown. I find the slowdown one makes it impossible to lead moving targets at range and sometimes it sticks to some distant enemy when you're trying to fire at the one right in front of you. I wouldn't be against them taking AA out altogether. I just use it because everyone else does and I already suck at close range firefights which I avoid like the plague (which is where I find AA helps the most, with shotguns and such).

Please as an experienced player let me change this choice you made.

If you are having trouble tracking then I presume your sensitivity must be very low, free look sensitivity is up to personal preference within reason

Spoiler Spoiler

(For example: having sens at low isn't good but choosing medium instead of max to fit your play style is a viable option, you don't want to take forever to turn on people or acquire target.

I suggest leaving slowdown on as theres nothing wrong with using slowdown, I am able to snap to target to target without Auto aim (auto rotation) but all your doing is hurting yourself if you use auto aim instead of slowdown.

However as much as I don't like auto aim regardless of skill level I do have a guy who joins my squad all the time he is part of the crew but is a not very good slayer lets say, I don't mind him because he does play his role as much as he can and is a great teammate who will kit switch revive us I guess im trying to politely say he is not that great in gunplay and he wasn't using auto aim as he dislikes the cheap kills people get on you with it but me and my buddy said we don't mind if he turns it on.

PS: Expect bags from me from now on now I know you use auto aim with a shotgun, don't you dare auto snap onto me.

Quoted

It's not that I am incapable of aiming on my own power,

Ok lets see where you go with this im interested.

. I turned it off for a good month or two and in that time I noticed I was losing a crapton of gunfights that I would normally win with Auto Rotation enabled. So I flipped it back on and voila, gunfights are in my favor again.

Yeah I really do not like where this went your basically saying your not good enough at aiming whilst saying you have no problem aiming even after saying that when the game is aiming for you , you win more gunfights when it isn't.

I feel you really need to just Git Gud, be aware when the option comes to turn it off something I imagine a lot of infantry servers will do players that use auto aim will be screwed meanwhile players who never did will do even better then before.

Slowdown is garbage. When you play mostly at mid range and are trying to aim ahead of moving targets it keeps thinking you're doing something wrong and slowly drifts back over towards the enemy. Again, as I said in my post, I would like AA removed from the game, but if everyone else has lock-on then I'm not going to handicap myself for no reason. Even back in BF4 days I said I didn't like AA. I do get why they put it in though, to allow new players to join in without being massacred by all the people who have trained muscle memory. If this decision results in a larger playerbase then I'm ok with it.

I play on Aussie servers which really need all the numbers they can get. I often have friends ask me if they should get a BF game and I honestly never know what to say. These games aren't exactly "fun" for new players. Getting constantly sniped until you learn to dance around, learning to watch the minimap, use gadgets, know the difference between weapons/ classes.... it all is a bit dense and often poorly explained. I know if I recommend BF then I'm dooming that person to weeks or even months of frustration as they won't have the requited knowledge/ muscle memory. If new players can enjoy themselves then I'm willing to accept AA being in the game.

I play on aussie servers everyday there is no doubt you have seen me in game, why don't you add me if you like?

as far as BF1 goes our server population is fine there are always many full servers maybe you need to adjust your settings.

Getting wrecked isn't fun but using that experience to slowly learn and get better is, I don't think its fair that bad players can kill good players just so they can have fun,BF is a game where even the worst player can do well KD wise if they use there brain just a little plus BF1 is already full of things that serve the purpose of letting bad players beat good ones this is part of why people say BF1 is casual.

What about my fun? I have 150,000 infantry kills and an infantry KD of 3.6, do you think its fun when the only reason I often get killed is because auto aim?

Spoiler Spoiler

(Aside from all the BS in this game like no fuse nades and bayonet kills)
If someone is so bad they cant quickly aim at someone accurately then they need to be punished not rewarded.

You remember Slixbrahs locker server I presume you do if you played BF4 at all well my point is that server had NO auto rotation enabled and I would often see people who could do well in Rowdys not do very well with no auto aim.

Auto aim off patch is coming so let me ask you who will be disadvantaged and playing at a handicap when people join a server and suddenly they have to actually aim in an FPS game god forbid.

I think the issue your having with leading may be player related and not aim assist as in perhaps you just need more experience either way if you want to actually improve not using auto aim is the way to go.

Yeah Gunjyguy, a.k.a. Ban Evasion, I'm not going to listen to you about gitting gud. I already stated why I use Auto Rotation because it's statistically better than what I can manage manually and helps me have fun with the game, which you conveniently omitted in the quotations. I can still get kills without any form of Aim Assist, but it's significantly harder and I don't necessarily want a challenge right now. That's my stance on the matter and I know myself infinitely more than you think know me, so don't make wild assumptions based on one single reply. It doesn't speak well on your behalf, we'll just leave it at that.

You said yourself that you're a "certified tryhard pro" or whatever so I'm going to take anything you say with an entire fucking ocean of salt because 1. your attitude comes off as elitist and disrespectful and 2. I generally don't respect those of the tryhard variety in a public scenario, although there are exceptions. You play the game how you want and I'll play how I want. Forcing your own opinion upon others about something that really has no observable, objective data associated with it is not a smart thing to do; that's why it's called an opinion and not fact.

Battlefield is a casual game, it isn't Counter Strike by any means. You should probably stick with your comp and scrims because not everyone is a certified tryhard pubstomper nor will everyone ever be one. Your desire is fantasy. Casual players will always be bad because many casual players don't invest the same amount of time or effort into the game as tryhards will, so there will always be a system in place to help them because developers don't want to alienate a large portion of their audience (unless they specifically want their audience to consist of tryhards which is entirely up to them). Battlefield seems to be headed more in the casual direction than the tryhard, so maybe the franchise isn't for you anymore. Just a thought.
To Aim Assist or not to Aim Assist, that is the question.

Nope. Aim Assist or bust; here's why:

Prepare your laughbox

the Sebstalder is quiet good since it can 3hit kill at any distanc ,but In my opinion i actually thikn the sweeper is better, its got a really really fast firerate that can beat alll those Noobmaticos, Helregall adn shitguns in close quarters , and its also really accurate out to like l;ong range,. overall great allround gun, jsut my 2$ tho
