Okay, i've been listening to flakfire and he confirmed the Fedorev Avtomat (and said it "bordered on overpowered"), the Double barrel being the only assault weapon but having a slug variant. He also confirmed the nagant revolver`

I don't think they included all 11 weapons in the EAPlay build

If I remember correctly, They had a very crude model of a carcano in the pre alpha for the set of reveal trailers. Ill have to do some digging

Well, GameSpot recently had a video up where a DICE producer was interviewed and they showed a lot of Russian DLC gameplay in the background. Clearly they weren't supposed to release this though, and it was taken down soon after. Annoyingly, I was foolish enough to only watch it the one time, but this is what I took note of:

- The Mosin-Nagant had a Marksman variant.

- The Double Barrelled shotgun had a Factory variant (and a respectable OHK potential).

- The MG14/17 had a variant with irons and a bipod (but it didn't say "Low Weight" when the player got a kill, it only displayed the LMG's name). It seemed to kick like an animal, but with a high RoF as predicted.

- I'm quite sure there were 7 flags on Lupkow Pass, and there was a 6-seater Armoured Train. The visuals were impressive, and it was mentioned that there are blizzards that don't last particularly long (this wasn't shown though).

- The Lance wasn't limited to the skewering animation from horseback. He seemed to hold it up and spear it down into someone for one of the kills.

Thanks for the info! So our preliminary list is looking like this:

Remington M1900 - Factory / Slug

Fedorov Avtomat - Factory (naturally) / unknown

MG 14 - Low Weight / unknown

Mosin-Nagant M1891 - Rifleman / Marksman

C93 Carbine (Silenced?)

Nagant M1895


I'm really happy with the variant selection so far, both the M1900 and M-N are exactly what I wanted them to be; the latter is especially good as it shares its round/sweet spot with the R1895, which has a Sniper variant.

I really hope the MG 14's variant has a scope, making like a more MG-like version of the BAR Telescopic. The Avtomat will likely just have a simple Trench or Storm variant.

Adding to what you said, the Double Barrel Shotgun fires really fast and seems to have good OHK potential, based on the stats of its sawed off counterpart I'm guessing it will be like a Model 10 A Hunter with incredible firerate and longer downtime, it also appears to have two fire modes with the second one probably firing both shots at once(double slugs?).

The MG14/17 gives me big Hellriegel vibes as it lacks the controllability to exceed at range but also lacks hipfire making it awkward in CQB, that said I need to see someone who actually knows how to play BF use it before I'm sure.

Map looks great visuals-wise, but once again the person playing was mentally retarded and spent most of the round camped in a corner shooting planes so it's hard to tell if it plays well.

One of the devs talked about "class specialization" which would "allow you to tailor a class to your playstyle", he wasn't allowed to talk about it but I'm getting perk vibes seeing as how weapons and gadgets already allow you to choose a specific playstyle for a class.

Didn't the Concept Exploration that first featured the MG14/17 show the silhouette of a scope? Either way, it won't be getting a Telescopic variant with the accuracy bonuses, only a Suppressive variant at best.



EDIT: Having rewatched the gameplay thanks to Gecko99's link, I'm relieved to find that the MG14/17 shares the same damage model as the MG15 and is also a 6 bullet kill at range. You can see it does 51 damage after 3 hits at a very long distance. I was concerned they were going to make it a 7 bullet kill at range to balance its RoF, but thankfully not.

And yes, the select fire for the Double Barrelled will be awesome! I loved that option in Hardline.

Suppressive is what I want anyway, that would be the perfect scope, and it's only used on two guns right now; Extended Mags naturally suits it as well. I just mean in concept it would be like the BAR Tele, with a very high RoF and not-so-great ranged performance... until you put it on a Bipod and it's a hilarious laser beam of death.

EDIT: Oh my god, those MG 14 reload animations are ridiculously sexy, I need that gun. :love: The map looks really, really good too, both visually and gameplay/environment-wise.

The Remington M1900 Slug has made me wonder... what happens IF the slug variant has a double shot mode? This will be interesting :].
