And the premium edition video rant is here. Look I respect everyone's opinion but the reasons being given are so out of point (especially past the 2m mark). My favorite part was when he claimed that BF1 somehow is exactly like Cod because there are some guns which are good at hipfire. Clearly never played BF4's P90 before.

I don't like complaining but dear god the combination of false information, nostalgia goggles and general self entitlement makes me cringe. Maybe you guys don't feel this way and I would like to hear your take on it.

I thought he said that he liked BF because it was not like CoD and gave the hipfire example, which I can relate to, because ranges are still longer in ANY BF map compared to CoD.

I can agree with him, for different reasons, the game is out for a year now and was a massive disappointment for a thousand reasons to me and ALL my friends. I personally paid 90€ for the game and Premium, another paid 120€ and two paid 70€. Nobody plays anymmore.

It is a bit different with BF4, I paid 120€ up front, had a blast with this game for almost three years.

I can certainly see how people feel cheated when they bought the season pass with release, confident that they get a good game and the DLCs. Now almost a year later they have not delivered the second DLC yet, but they are releasing another premium edition for half the price now, although they have not released anything beyond TSNP.
Now of course this is partly due to the season pass policy having failed for this game and likely for the industry in general. It is time for a new one. However it is also a sign of a company wanting the extra buck for a, so far, failed game. People are immensly disappointed with this game, left the game in flocks and they are trying to bring them back also by selling it again for cheap.

Well I cannot say the same. I enjoy the game immensely, more
so than previous instalments. I find it to be a more challenging & focused
experience particularly in Rush & Frontlines. Every kill is earnt where as
in BF4 I could half ass a microburst from most weapons and do stupidly well
(one of the reasons why my favourite weapon was the M60). There are no lock
ons, vehicle to infantry interactions generally occur at shorter distances and
have greater interplay, e.g. Limpet charge disabling tracks or sponsoons. There
are gameplay issues that annoy me, such as the Bayonet and Melee aimbot but
they don’t even compare to the issues BF4 and especially BF3/BC2 had.

Paid 70 + 50 euro. There is no getting that back so if the
game becomes cheaper than it is only beneficial to me, because of the reason I
just mentioned. I took a gamble on something which is not guaranteed and does
not exist. This should be buyer’s responsibility and not be reliant on the
goodwill of a large corporation. Hell, I wish they would just remove the model
entirely. Would be a good gesture on their part to give some kind of reward or
recompense to people who already bought it but that is asking for something you
have already paid for 9 months ago based on a feeling. One wouldn't complain to
Nvidia that they bought a Titan Pascal only to have them release a slightly
better version unexpectedly and unwittingly. (Even though some tried). That was
my decision. There were no grantees and I knew that it would be cheaper
eventually. I can understand that there were less DLC's before this came out
but really, there is a value proposition and that is entirely
personal/subjective. There are few things on this earth with the cost per hour
of a Battlefield game to me, so the price is justified in that sense. I find
the premium edition an enabler to a higher degree of enjoyment since more
people will play it.

Maybe its because my mind-set is that of 'what is done is
done'.

BF1 is still highly popular regardless of its polarizing
nature (which occurred with most BF titles anyway) with over 100k concurrent
players. It is less popular than expected on PC but I suspect this is due to
the absence of large game communities, such as Taurigaming (of which I am a
part of) not being interested due to poor RSP functionality compared to Procon.

I have met over 60 new people across my 800hrs in this game
alone and most of my previous friends think the same way. But this of course is
beside the point really. I only mentioned it as some people have reacted
positively as it is simply a negative coverage of a game they dislike.

Regardless, his video should have ended at around the 3
minute mark. Everything business related at the end is not relevant. My point
is that there shouldn’t be such a response just because of a feeling based on
assumption, especially when it is for the greater good of game population.

Stop saying that BF1 is a "failed" game. It sold really well and is played by loads of people every day. We know it had a lower budget than BF4 so even if it's not quite as popular as BF4 I'm sure BF1 has been a massive financial success for EA.

Just because you personally don't like the game it doesn't make it a failure. I'm having a blast and I'm still playing 2-4 nights a week almost a year after release. That counts as a huge success in my book.

But is has failed me, and a couple of dozen other people in my vicinity. That is the whole point of any rant or constructive criticism. If you are having fun with this game, I am very glad for it, believe me, but this is just the same personal opinion. I do think though that "the game sold very well" is not something I would want as a sign for a good game. BF1 not because it being so much fun to play, but because DICE read the signs that a new setting is in order and because the players trusted DICE from the previous games BF games.
I mean we argued a lot about BF4 here, but I can not recall the gameplay being as polarizing as BF1. We discussed stats, and modes, and suppression mechanics, bugs and technical issues, argued for more or less competitiveness, but never really about if the game was fun or not.

So any praise for this game is as relevant and justified as any rant, because there are two equal sides when talking about BF1. This makes any discussion per se an expression of personal opinion foremost. I spend the 90 bucks on the game trusting DICE to make a game that I enjoy and thus it was not worth it, but likely was for many more. Considering the player counts, and the end of the Premium mechanic, it is a smart move to reanimate the game before Battlefront 2 hits. But of course people will feel even cheated when the game price drops between 30-50% before even a quarter of the promised content was released.

However and I want to make that clear again, if you guys enjoy this game as much or more as BF4, then this is awesome. Hopefully the new DLC will make your game experience even better and maybe even I find a bit of fun again in BF1. Until then we can only continue to share our game experiences. :D

Damn, Obrez is a one shot kill?

The Fedorov also looks like one hell of a thing.

Thanks Jslice!

I will say that the Obrez's 10m OHK to the body seems too good for a sidearm. Hopefully it doesn't become BF1's G18/Shorty 12G.

Perino and Huot sharing the same V recoil is interesting as it seemed to me that t he Huot has much more pronounced V.Recoil. Suspecting that it has (perino) a lower first shot RECOIL multiplier.

Do you know if the Perino has a higher Drag Co-efficient?

The Federov seems to have surprisingly low horizontal recoil (vertical is pretty low for a SLR as well). I think I'll definitely be using it in place of the M1907 trench; a consistently 4 BTK to about 30 m at around 400 RPM is a decent TTK. But, I think the low recoil will make the trench's hip fire really devastating.

The Liu seems outclassed by 5 round SLRs (1906 and 8 .35). It seems to have pretty high recoil compared to those guns. I don't know if one extra bullet is worth the low recoil of the 1906 or the extra ROF (and low recoil) of the 8. 35. 6 rounds is nice for the 2 kill capacity, but it does require perfect accuracy. Right now, I occasionally miss getting one kill with a fully loaded 1906. It is a pretty rare occurrence when that happens, but it happens, so I don't see how the Liu won't just be another 1 kill per clip for me.

Vetterli has me pretty interested right now, that 20-50 sweetspot looks really good for aggressive scout. I wonder if it is going to have the same damage model as the Martini (the 112 max damage). With only 100 max, you'll definitely get the occasional 75 (limbs) and 90 (lower body) hit markers, but that is probably how it is going to be balanced.

Lastly, the MG14 has monster recoil--it'll still be a powerhouse up close, but its not going to be very useful off the bipod at range.

Thanks for the numbers @JSLICE20
