I agree that the issue with a lot of these assignments is that they require unfun playstyles. Like tripwire bomb kills or mine kills. But I like the concept of assignments as a way to unlock things, and I'm not against the unlock grind. These past few months I've been playing The Division almost exclusively and the endgame there is a perpetual loot grind, and I love it. But there, the main gameplay loop is fun, and nothing requires that I do an unfun activity to get loot because there are always multiple avenues to get even the rarest items.

I actually like how DICE made medals more assignment-like, but don't like how they are time-limited and exclusive so you can only progress towards one at a time. That part is stupid and should be thrown out. But I think that these unlock assignments should be preparing you to use the weapon they unlock. Some of them already do that, but all of them should do that. And rather than depending on unfun playstyles like mine-laying, they should be things like "Capture X flags as a Scout" or "Get X headshots as an Assault" that require a different, but not boring, style of play.

not really... i've barely touched the games since the tsnp release(and it was like, 2 time in the last 2 months) yet was still able to unlock all the tsnp weapons and weapon variants, so i think it does have at least some effect on some people.
then again, it doesn't work for a long time, that's for sure, and nobody in the world aside from youtubers like battlepacks.


But...that was my point. It's not enough of a time-sink to reliably keep people in game. Lots of the assignments are either trivial because you are doing them anyway, a minor inconvenience because they require using a weapon you don't like, or complete smurf territory because they are stupid, ie tripwire bomb kills.

I don't waste my time with the smurfy ones for eg. I didn't waste my time with the mortar kills for the Chau-Tele because it's a useless weapon, etc.

well... yeha, that was m goal, iwas agreeing with you in that it doesn't take a lot of time, but at the same time disagreeing as people do take their time to complete them, all of them.

I complete all of them. I have a mighty need to collect all the guns, even if I don't like them.


And I don't mind having to change up things for assignments because honestly I'd just plain never use half the stuff if it didn't make me. And then I'd just get bored.

Conq Albion has came out on the CTE and it is truly a spectacle.

It's a pretty massive map with two gun batteries which function like the ones in Monte Grappa except your aim point is elevated and they are actually useful, it seems DICE has taken the complaints about light transport vehicles to heart and added a ton of boats including a landing raft(think D-Day), unfortunately right now both teams can spawn in all boats regardless of who controls the island that it's parked at so people basically just use them as spawn beacons and don't drive them.

They also added the Heavy Bomber and as far as I can tell they are really easy to hit glass cannons with massive payloads but very little health.

After 2 rounds I feel like it plays out like every other open conquest map but the islands were really fun to fight on and the map is stunning.

Yep, it is large, slow, hard to control and hates to climb, but the firepower more than makes up for it's shortcomings.
  • The "strategic" loadout carries 5 cluster bomb sets and 4 trench dart sets + a spotting camera,
  • The "demolition" carries 2 250kg bombs and 5 50kg bombs + a quick repair
  • The "supply(not sure)" carries 4 incendiary cluster sets and 4 smoke bombs + a supply drop
Unfortunately I believe it's damage model is messed up as AA guns barely tickle it but 20mm cannons such as the ones on the attack plane kill in less than 4 hits, I also think ammo regeneration times are messed up as most bombs have a 2 second cooldown.

Some cool things I found out about Albion is the two teams have separate Behemoths, with the Airship going to the Russians and the Dreadnought going to the Germans and the Y Landing Craft works like a beacon when parked.

talking about the cte, am i the only one who had problems joining games? also the only time i was able to jjoin(on a rush server) i would always die on spawn as ... the defender i think?

it's always like this, not playing for months, and as soon as i want to try playing again, for some reason i can't join any server, and if i'm able to, i end up having a bad time.

Apperantly, the Fedorev has an rate of fire of 450

Aside from being about as off as that of the Chauchat, this also gives it the second-highest TTK in its class. If you have a hitrate of anywhere below 100%, it will be the strongest in its class; its practical time to kill equals that of the Model .35. This gun definitely needs to be bumped down to a more sane 400 Rpm. Currently it is basically on par wit the Model .35 while being 15 times more forgiving in terms of aggressive usability. What the hell, Dice. In its current state it outright invalidates the existence of the Winchester 1907 (And I am confident saying this before having looked at its end damage) and to a large degree, the Model .25. Pathetic attempt at balancing in what I can only see as a idiotic attempt to placate the idiots who can't play medics now they no longer have the best weapon class in the game.

SLR RoF is determined by the amount of frames in between each shot, as a result 400 RPM is incompatible; it would have to be 359 if it were to be lowered.

I'll show you what I mean:

30Hz-

1/30 = 0.0333333s
60/450 = 0.1333333
0.133/0.033 = 4.03 frames in between each shot

60/400 = 0.15
0.15/ 0.033 = 4.55 frames in between each shot

You want to be as close to the whole number as possible without being exact, because Frostbite math is weird (it seems to skip an entire frame if the frame is exact), which is why the 8 .35 is 359 RPM and not 360.

The Federov appears to be a 4 BTK up close, that's a ~400ms TTK. The 8 .35 is a ~334ms TTK, so the 8 .35 definitely kills faster which means that the 8 .25 Ext. does as well since both have the same BTK til 17m. It's also exactly on par with the 1907, so most of what you said is false.

It has hilarious Hrecoil that makes it really bad beyond medium range, so all-in-all I'd say it's pretty good where it's at now.

the Sebstalder is quiet good since it can 3hit kill at any distanc ,but In my opinion i actually thikn the sweeper is better, its got a really really fast firerate that can beat alll those Noobmaticos, Helregall adn shitguns in close quarters , and its also really accurate out to like l;ong range,. overall great allround gun, jsut my 2$ tho

Yes, it is a 4 BTK at CQC (26 damage start) and drops off to 6 BTK at range (18 damage end). So, 4-6 BTK. It is really not that great at CQC and it has pretty bad recoil, so you aren't getting medium-long range kills with it.
