And .sb files. I'm sure it involves Python and extracting the "weaponsandattachments" files to such, which is likely a gross oversimplification, but I guess I'll leave that to those who know what they're actually doing.

Speaking of the "Weapon Crate," I'd love to see at least two FREE Pilot/Tanker weapons. I'd vouch for the Chauchat-Ribeyrolles M1918 and the Mauser M1917 Trench Carbine. After that, DICE should release the Steyr M1912 machine pistol as part of a DLC. This is so DICE could eventually incorporate these weapons within specific main infantry classes. I'm still holding onto my "pick two" idea where you'll spawn with two Pilot/Tanker weapons (since they're worse than primaries but better than secondaries). Limiting it to only one would be a hindrance to yourself and thus also your team.

Assault: Sawn-Off (BF1), Frommer Stop Auto (BF1), Steyr M1912 Auto (TT)
Medic: M1911 Extended (BF1), Chauchat-Ribeyrolles 1918 (WC), Borchardt C93 Carbine (ITNOTT)
Support: Artillery P08 (BF1), Mauser M1917 Trench Carbine (WC), Mle 1903 Extended (TSNP)
Scout: C96 Carbine (BF1), Pieper M1893 (BF1), Obrez (ITNOTT)

(Alternatively, Artillery P08, M1911 Extended, and Borchardt C93 Carbine for Medic. Mauser M1917 Trench Carbine, Chauchat-Ribeyrolles 1918, and Mle 1903 Extended for Support.)

That makes perfect sense to me.

Cannot be equipped. . . until probably later this week or the next. Then the new weapons will obviously see extensive overview from JackFrags, Westie, and many other large YouTubers.

Spoiler Spoiler

I'm actually low-key trying to spread the news to some of the smaller, but still great, YouTubers first.

Given the line-up, I can only assume this means other popular guesses with high demand, along with less completely obscure LMG's than the Perino, are probably already reserved for other DLC's, because for the life of me I can't know of any other reason other than "its already planned" to throw in a Vetterli instead of the bloody Rolling block, or the Lui instead of a Madsen Rasmussen, or the Perino instead of the Kjellman which was only marginally less obscure.

And now I am really wondering that rabbit are they going to pull out of their sleeve to get assault weaponry for the next 2 DLC's. I mean, the Annihalator I is probably coming to Apocalypse, but that leaves one DLC with nothing. The Russian once could've had a Krnka but thats about it

Looking at both gameplay and visuals:

The Rasmussen is almost literally a semi-auto Madsen with less ammo.

The Kjellman is visually basically just a Madsen with a Maxim-style water-cooling jacket on the front end, again not really that interesting compared to other options.

The Rolling Block is basically a Martini reskin that doesn't really even look different (just a slightly different action and external hammer), compared to the Vetterli which holds four shots with a far more unique visual design, likely making it a very unique rifle that sits between the M-H and the bolt actions.

The Annihilator is basically guaranteed in Apocalypse, yeah. That Krnka looks a heck of a lot more interesting than the Rolling Block while serving a similar role, but in looking it up I found the 1867 Werndl, which is very similar and, being from Austria-Hungary, makes it more likely.

Speculation Time!

I think for Turning Tides we will only get 6 weapons like TSNP with two of them being a Carbine and Secondary, DICE really threw me off with the other 5 weapons of INT but here goes my list for TT:
  • For Assault the Winchester 1887
  • For Medic the Farquhar Hill
  • For Support the Darne Machine gun
  • For Scout the Arisaka or Carcano
  • For the Secondary either the Reichsrevolver 1883(already in files) or the Webley Mark I pistol
  • For Pilot-Tanker the Mannlicher 1904 Carbine
Then for Apocalypse we will get 11 weapons:
  • For Assault the Thompson Annihilator
  • For Medic the Madsen Rasmussen and Rossignol ENT
  • For Support the Burton LMR and Vickers-Berthier M1917
  • For Scout the Ross Riffle and Rolling Block
  • For the Secondaries the Webley Mark I pistol and Bergman 1910
  • For Pilot-Tanker the Chauchat Ribeyrolles and Sawed Off Lee Enfield
This means that by Apocalypse each class will have received 6 new primaries and there will be 4 new all-class secondaries.

This arrangement makes the most sense to me as Tuning Tides will only come out 3 months after INT if everything goes accordingly and therefore will probably be lighter on content than INT or Apocalypse(which I can only imagine will be DICE's attempt at ending with a bang).

For remaining possible SMG types, we have two besides the Annihilator: The Furrer 1919 (and CG render) which has a hilarious and awesome sideways Luger toggle-action, and this thing.

There's always something so great about WW1 era designs. Nobody had any idea what they were doing and everything was just so stupid and elaborate and nonsensical.

I love it.

The Persuader would have been the first Thompson prototype, being designed in 1918. The Annihilator was also apparently designed in 1918, but some "sources" list it more as a 1919 design. Either way, I'd have to wonder which one DICE would choose. If anything, having a third high-capacity SMG would probably make the community extra salty. So, maybe the Annihilator is the better bet.

I do think the model for the Maxim SMG's eight-column clip will look pretty "boss" when it has a full eighty rounds loaded onto it. Rate of fire will probably be somewhere from 450 to 500 rounds per minute.

I think a 20 round Thompson Annihilator sharing the same damage model as the 1911(3hk out to 10 meters) with a 450 rpm and high recoil would make a devastating and incredibly unique SMG.

That would give it the same TTK as the Automatico and its 4 BTK a 400ms TTK.

A harder to use, but equally effective Automatico is aight with me. Actually, that's not too far off from the high RoF/ low damage - low RoF/ high damage relationship of several of the ARs in BF4.
To Aim Assist or not to Aim Assist, that is the question.

Nope. Aim Assist or bust; here's why:
