The Federov looks to have some pretty horrendous Hrecoil even with the Optical variant which has Hrecoil multipliers. This in combination with the crazy RoF, which very clearly is NOT 225; that's what the shitty 1916 has, and raw damage output tell me it's a close-medium range SLR. Which begs the question: why Optical?

Yes, I only saw one video with the optical, and the user was bursting so I couldn't really tell how fast it was firing, but the trench seemed faster than 225; I really hope so.

I like the optical variants, because you get a lower ADS moving spread, so you can strafe while firing. I think optical variants fit well with close-medium range, where you can still get a good hitrate with the moving ADS spread. Do you think they fit better for medium-long?

Quoted

78 RPM is consistent with the M10 and 225 with the 1916. I would suggest these values are placeholder and obviously not the real deal.

Do you think that means the 700 RPM listed on the weapon customization screen for the MG14/17 is also misleading? That would make it the second faster firing primary weapon in the game (after the automatico--excluding the Villar Perosa and the Frommer Stop full auto).

That was my initial thought too. But the 1916 shoots at 224, so what's that about?

Thanks for the info! So our preliminary list is looking like this:

Remington M1900 - Factory / Slug

Fedorov Avtomat - Factory (naturally) / unknown (second variant is the Trench)

MG 14 - Low Weight / unknown (second variant is the suppressive with 100 bullet magazine)

Mosin-Nagant M1891 - Rifleman / Marksman

C93 Carbine (Silenced?)

Nagant M1895

So, this is our up to date knowledge of 6 (with variants) of the 11 weapons in the In The Name of the Tsar DLC

EDIT: I was thinking that each class (support, assault, medic, scout) would get one addition weapon plus one class would get a third new weapon (excluding assault as it got it extra weapon in TSNP). Including the 6 above, 5 more class specific weapons makes 11 total. Then,going forward into the next DLC, one class would get an extra new weapon. So at the end, each of the four primary classes has the same number of weapons.

That's in line with its real life RoF and with what you can roughly judge from the footage. The only thing that puts it into doubt is the general credibility of the RoF listings in the current build.

Weapon observations:

The Fedorov definitely fires above 225 RPM and seems to do a max damage of 28.

The Remington 1900 slug variant seems to retain the secondary fire mode of its buckshot brother(though currently there is footage of neither).

Nagant Revolver=Mars Automatic.

The MG14/17 despite its 700 RPM looks like shit(if you ask me) with terrible spread, Recoil and Hipfire.

The Mosin Nagant is pretty indistinguishable from other BAs with the RPM of the Lebel and a similar reload to the Gew. 95.

@Shalan

Oh shit, you're right. I always thought it was 225. :/

@dwojtk

The MG14's listed 700 is unique to the game so it is probably the correct RoF. Why this is possibility the only correct one is beyond me.

Optical variants tend to favor accuracy which is why it strikes me as odd to have so much Hrecoil, which is the antithesis of accuracy; that's what I perceived from the footage anyway. Optical has both moving and stationary ADS spread modifiers that I think are better suited for medium-long range, yes. Spread attributes and Hrecoil is almost irrelevant at close range because the cone of fire is still small enough to hit your target reliably. I really would like to see what Hitrater would say though.
To Aim Assist or not to Aim Assist, that is the question.

Nope. Aim Assist or bust; here's why:

It should also share its sweet spot with the R1895, as they fire the same round. With a Marksman variant, it may end up being one of the single best jack-of-all-trades BAs in the game.

Quite the understatement tbh. It actually fires close to twice as fast as the 1916. I decided to analyze a bunch of in-game footage frame-by-frame like a 'tist and calculated the Fedorov's rpm as being between 370 and 410rpm.

With BF1's rates of fire being so tickrate-based, wouldn't it be either 360 or 450? I'm not sure if there are any "proper" potential values between those two, but I'd lean towards 450 if those are the only options.
