the mg14 reminds me of the bc2 pkm in a way, i like that, it's just a feels thing, but i still like that, and also if you think about it, as of now the lmg class is the class with the highest variety in weapon's rof, that's nice.

Shitty ROF and useless performance beyond point blank range. It's a short range SLR you don't need to click-spam to use (oh and it has some spread benefits which don't really matter at the ranges it's used at).

IRL the fedorov should be a different beast. Problems with heating and performance aside, the Fedorov is basically a proto-assault rifle firing an intermediate cartridge and should have vaguely AR performance, which is pretty powerful compared to many BF1 weapons.

I suspect they will do to it what they did to the other "short range" SLRs and make them spread and have arbitrarily high damage drop off to enforce some sort of rock-paper-scissors balance.

To be fair to the M1907 SL, it does out damage the 550RPM SMGs and basically matches the BAR for close-quarters TTK. I'd say the Trench variant is probably most useful since it strengthens its close-quarters abilities (which, like you say, is the whole point of it).

I expect the Federov Avtomat to be like a fully automatic AL8 .25 with a bigger mag or like a Chauchat without negative spread increase or a bipod.

Never said the 1907 was bad. Quite the opposite, I think they are very strong guns that are under-used because the CQB focus and the overall potency of some SLRs in CQB is misunderstood by the player base.

Only thing keeping me from using the 1907s is that I prefer the Auto 8-.25 since it allows fairly seamless switching to the Auto8-.35 when I want something that reaches out further.

I think the Federov will be somewhere in between the MP18 and the AL8 .25. Don't forget that the AL8 .25 is basically ALREADY the Chauchat without lmg mechanics. I am really hoping the Federov will be something other than a sweeper AL8 .25.

Well, "Shitty ROF and useless performance beyond point blank range" didn't sound like glowing praise to me.

For BF1, DICE seems to be sticking to real-life Muzzle Velocities, and then "tiering" BTKs based on Ballistic Energy calculations. So, for the Federov, I expect a Cei-Rigotti with a detachable box magazine, and higher Velocity due to Spitzer Bullet... which sounds pretty good on paper, to be honest.

The Fedorov Avtomat fired at 360-400 RPM IRL(though some conflicting reports say 600 RPM) so I think 400 RPM with a 4-5 BTK would make for an interesting gun.

The 4 currently known weapons all seem very unique but I wonder what DICE can do to make future weapons just as interesting?

That's specifically what makes it balanced and not OP. If the 1907s had even reasonably good midrange capability they would be totally OP given the dominance of <20 meter fighting in BF.

Same thing with the AL8-.25. If it was merely competent at midrange instead of complete trash the gun would be "too good".

I used to really like the 1907 Fac and 1907 Trenchy. But with the AL8-.25 they are IMO sort of redundant.

I feel that the Avotmat will be "OP" because the player base will ineviatbly gravite towards any gun that combines the ease of use of the m1907 sweeper with any kind of distinctive role.

Flakfire confirmed it, along with the Nagant revolver and (as expected) the C93 Carbine. I believe the M1900 having a Slug variant and "both-barrels" fire mode info came from him too.
