I have auto rotation off and slowdown on. Are you guys saying its better to have rotation on or off? Seems like I have been doing better with it off.
Personal anecdote: I'm a PS4 Automatico user with above average aim. Turned off auto-rotation, left slowdown on, and didn't really notice any difference, sometimes even played better because sometimes my aim would snap and I'd overcompensate because I didn't think I was on target while I hit the button to aim down sights. Turned auto-rotation on, turned off slowdown... Couldn't aim for shit.

I just flipped both Auto Rotation and Slowdown back on yesterday to compare my abilities with and without them on; I improved dramatically with them on. My ADS Sensitivity is 60% of my Movement Sensitivity, so the slowdown is practically doubled in ADS but keeps me on target far more because small adjustments in ADS aren't so severe. Auto Rotation snaps so damn fast and accurate I don't even have to do much of anything with the right stick in most cases. No wonder why I was getting frequently dominated when I had it turned off! It's as fast if not faster than the average human reaction time; it literally behaves as a pseudo aimbot and you have to be dumb or just really good to compete without either of these factors enabled.
To Aim Assist or not to Aim Assist, that is the question.

Nope. Aim Assist or bust; here's why:

it literally behaves as a pseudo aimbot and you have to be dumb or just really good to compete without either of these factors enabled.

which makes me question about who spread around the word that snap auto aim isn't beneficial to one's accuracy, it just makes no sense.

Maybe I'm just doing it wrong, but my experience is the same as oba's. I've never noticed much of a difference with auto-rotation on or off. Maybe because I'm constantly giving SOME kind of input with the right stick?

What do you mean it's pseudo...it is an aimbot just coded by the devs.

Kind of like oxycontin...made through conventional means but still bad.

It isn't beneficial to one's accuracy, it simply lulls everyone into thinking they're a quick scoping prodigy. Like an automatic gear box doesn't help your shift timing, sure it shifts at +/- 10 rpm of the set rpm everytime but it sure as hell won't help the driver get better at shifting.

but will it make the end result be better? i think so.

talking about the automatic shift example, i also heard of certain pro drivers saying, after they tried automatic shift that while it didn't offer better performances, it allowed the driver to focus a lot more on actual driving, making the driving experience much better and, in certain cases, leading even to better results.

You're both right here. The flip side to this, however, is your aiming skill will plateau at a much lower level than if you weren't using Aimbot Assist.

It's literally a case of "theoretical best" vs "best for me right now", the exact same debates and discussions we have on the SLRs in the first place. The Rem 8 and Luger are the theoretical bests, but most people will ultimately perform better with the Cei and Mondragon.

This is a brilliant analogy. With both forms of Aim Assist off I really, really had to focus intently on my manual aim where my movement and positioning became utter trash because I just wasn't focusing on those aspects as much. Movement and positioning won't help if you can't hit your targets as well as the other players who can with Aim Assist on. Through gimping myself in the name of "skill" I was being a scrub. I still am a scrub in that I'll refuse to pick up Elite kits, but not concerning Aim Assist anymore. Now I'm on the same playing field as my competition and I have already noticed an improvement in movement and positioning which has helped me to beat my opponents more consistently. I don't have to worry about missing shots or eliminating threats anymore which will improve the rest of my game and deliver better results.
To Aim Assist or not to Aim Assist, that is the question.

Nope. Aim Assist or bust; here's why:

Oh, sorry I misunderstood. Yes it most definitely improves your results if not your aim. And yes automatic gear boxes at the high end have long surpassed manual gearboxes in every single aspect of hot lapping except perhaps enjoyment. Maybe I'm old but there's something about a purely mechanical car (manual gearbox, unassisted steering and rack) coupled with a revvy engine that is very enjoyable.

On that note, although the company stagnated ( I think ) they've made aimbots IRL too.
