The Lewis was buffed

  • Reduced reload time for the Lewis MG from 3 to 2.85 s and 4.5 to 4.2 s for fast and slow reloads
  • Slowed down Lewis MG overheat from 35 to 50 bullets
  • Lewis minimum* damage increased from 21 to 23
  • Reduced Lewis horizontal recoil from 0.36 to 0.34

* I'm assuming it was a typo and meant maximum, if they changed those values by accident I gotta get on and abuse the gun...

thoughts and opinions on these changes?

My thoughts: The Lewis spam will be strong and the enhanced precision is a strong plus. The other changes are slightly negligible; the max damage buff can give you a 4 shot kill in CQC if you land 1 headshot but besides that the 5 shot is still the same, and the reload speed is a plus but not going to make you perform 110% better than before.

Slowed down Lewis MG overheat from 35 to 50 bullets

this is probably the only change to the lewis they made that will make me think about using it, seeing how so far it's the onlylmg with such a high cap on overheat.

It was a bit ridiculous that you quite consistently when spraying the non-suppressive variants, were stopped 16 rounds from the end.

With the lewis an overheat means a reload; there is no point in trying to fire again when you are down to 16 bullets.

Because LMGs get more accurate the longer you fire them, it's basically magdump except your spread isn't all over the place.

No, where did you get that from?

As long as you hold down the trigger you get [Spread decrease] spread added to your spread after each shot, for LMGs once they reach min spread they stay there, unless you move, in which case you get min. moving spread. Stop moving and you start moving towards min. spread again. Etc. etc.

nope, why should it? all you have to account for with lmgs is fssm and recoil, SDPS(spread decrease per shot) will do the rest, once it reaches min spread, it stays there till you hold down the trigger.
