There is no delay to fire when you start to ADS, but the transition to ADS takes some time which uses fancy curves.

I do not suppose that the higher accuracy that comes with aiming down sights immediately applies though, right?

At least in BF4 you can see a linear "fade" to ADS spread when you start to ADS, but can't be 100% sure about BF1. It's very fast though (3-6 frames).

So the crosshairs at any moment accurately represent the current bullet spread?

I haven't actually followed the crosshair what it does during ADS transition but generally I believe it is tied to true spread of the weapon.

In BF3 the crosshair followed the accuracy

In BF3 the crosshair followed the accuracy

no it didn't, there simply was less visual recoil.

Coming from CoD, I always found it odd that this stat wasn't more prominent in the BF world. I'd just assumed that different optics all had the same ADS speed. So was the original question of this thread answered? Does it take 0.2 seconds to aim down sights for all primary weapons?

Along the same lines, I really miss occasionally using a ADS-walk playstyle (CoD's Stalker perk or Stock attachment), and thought it'd be neat to have the Low Weight LMG variants buffed with an increase to ADS moved speed, perhaps with a buff to ADS spread as well. Alas, they got bipods. Not that I'm complaining!

I think this might be a really cool buff for the Huot, though.

Proof my opinion doesn't matter

How does visual recoil tie into the hip fire crosshairs?

i must have not followed, i thought you were talking about ads reticle which also call crosshair.

the only games i 100% know for sure that do that are rainbow 6 siege, arma, red orchestra and insurgency.
