What is the "Huot" supposed to be?

looking at the general stats, you could say the Huot is a "slightly" more precise Lewis but if you want a precision LMG the Benet Optical is the better option. From my understanding, the Huot can pause between bursts yet maintain precision better than the Benet but you wouldn't need to with the sub-par "magazines"; unless you're peeking in and out of cover constantly while on the move. This in turn means the Huot can achieve better precision than the Benet overall, but is that beneficial with the underwhelming magazines?


I'm confused by this weapon, can someone describe the balance philosophy DICE gave this weapon? I'd much appreciate feedback on understanding this weapon choice for my support.

Looking at the stats why would I choose to use the Huot over even the Lewis Light Weight? The larger magazine makes up for the slight horizontal recoil benefits and I don't know if 0.03 makes a big enough difference in ADS spread to make up for it. I feel like 9 extra bullets at min spread is just better.

I might use the Huot on principle because I honestly don't think I have been killed by it yet so many people can't be using it (at least on my system), but is there an objective reason to use it?

Huot resets to good accuracy faster. Lewis for spam and suppression, Huot for actually killing things fast.

Huot has a -0.15 spread increase per shot compared to lewis -0.144. I am pretty new to the whole numbers thing so is -0.006 really that much of a difference practically speaking?

It is, considering that the FSSM (First Shot Spread Increase Multiplier) of the Huot is less significant compared to other LMG's (-4), meaning it will experience a much smaller jump in spread when it begins firing. Better base accuracy + faster spread decrease over time = more shots on target.


Also consider that hRecoil (Horizontal Recoil) is an important statistic to review. Unlike vRecoil, hRecoil is not controllable and will throw a player's shots off target. The Huot has .02 degrees of hRecoil less than the Lewis, meaning it will shake your spread less while firing full auto.

positive is good, negative is bad, as applying a negative multiplier to a negative value actually gives a positive number.(the higher the negative number multiplier, the higher the spread on the second shot, and thus the number of shots it'll take to reach min spread)

Huh thanks for taking the time to explain it. As I said before the -5 is green and the -4 is red for FSSM on the multicomparison for the weapons. My choices have always been guided by green for the most part.
