The timer starts once the tube leaves your inventory.

Not when it runs out of ammo.

Maybe it is some kind of class balance, because you can't equip Wembley-Scott Auto Revolver on Assault class and have to use No.3 as revolver(or other painfully long reload ones). But I don't get it - assault's main role is "CQB devastator", so that garbage-firerate No.3 would be the last weapon that I choose as sidearm for assault class.

Have you actually used the gate-loaded revolvers (meaning any aside from the Auto and No.3)? And by "used" I mean "tried reloading them in a firefight".

Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining about balance here, this is just for my own playstyle, but they really don't work for me most of the time. See, when I run empty with my primary in CQB and don't have the time to reload, I do what most sensible people do and pull out my sidearm. Some people then empty their sidearm (or use however much is needed on that one enemy), then as quickly as possible switch back their primary. I do not. For me, in a tense, hectic CQB situation my primary really on has one mag, and once it runs empty I switch to my sidearm and continue to use that until things have settled down enough to reload both and prep for another fight.

I rely on my sidearm as another primary probably far more often than most people, and the revolvers just don't work for me most of the time. I'd almost certainly use the No.3 over the others (except the Auto), simply because that fast reload is just so vital to me most of the time. This is especially apparent when using my new favourite gun in BF1, the Rem .35, with its extreme RoF and only five-round mag. A solid sidearm that can double as a primary (currently the Auto) is mandatory.

Wow. That is fast if that time is true.

Though, that YouTuber might have just skipped over a couple of seconds at the end there.

It is not true because:

The timer starts once the tube leaves your inventory.

Not when it runs out of ammo.

The Mortar Tube itself has a 40s resupply time that starts when the ammo counter for the Mortar Tube goes from 1/0 to 0/0.

I fully expect that time to be eventually increase to a minute with how many complaints the Mortar has been a target of.

What's a delayed spawn in the scenario?

I understand that the delayed respawn is the time before one gets another Mortar gadget.

So you don't think that the Mortar gadget regenerates too quickly?

I am a fan of the effectiveness of the Mortar so far and even I think the time delay between firing five shots is too short, especially considering how it now gives you a perfect overhead view of large sections of the map.

The respawn is the only thing wrong with the Mortar, but it's a pretty big issue. There needs to be enough time between uses that it discourages a Mortar-only playstyle, but rather using it, moving on and fighting normally, then using it against somewhere else. A regen this fast just encourages the wrong thing.

On the subject of encouraging the wrong playstyles, the Sniper Shield really should belong to Support. It would see much more and effective use there, fits Support perfectly (especially with MGs' "warm up" time), and is awful for encouraging the exact sort of campy Scout playstyle we don't want.
