"Battlefield 1" Official Single-Player Trailer

Looks great in my opinion. Maybe it could be as good as the campaign in "Battlefield Hardline".

Yep I am expecting a lot more form the BF1 singleplayer than we ever got. While BF3 was not very good, the latest installments really were laughable.

I hope they either create a lot of tension and immersion with a lot of authenticity, or create a shocase for everything BF1 has to offer, with all the mechanics, vehicles and weapons, basically a really fleshed out Tutorial. I do not know if we can have both.
The story itself is only important for me if they try to depict the Great War in a authentic way, basically as pointless and gruesome as it was.

Here is the page on single-player for "Battlefield 1".
Battlefield 1 Single Player - Battlefield Official Website

There was also a news article about War Stories for the campaign.
The Single Player of Battlefield 1

From what we know of currently, there are at least six different War Stories. They are Friends in High Places, Nothing is Written, Through Mud and Blood, Avanti Savoia, The Runner, and Storm of Steel. I included that last one specifically because it was mentioned in the news article for the Play First Trial of this game as being playable starting on October 13th alongside Through Mud and Blood.
Details on the Battlefield 1 Play First Trial for EA Access and Origin Access

I did a little bit of research and found that "Storm of Steel" was the title of a memoir by a German officer detailing his experiences on the Western Front during the First World War. In my opinion, this is an indication that we will be able to play as soldiers from the Central Powers in the campaign. After all, this was not the Second World War that had a clearly defined side of good with there being no evil Nazis yet.

Battlefield has always been know for having amazing trailers, but this may be the best one yet; I'm going to keep watching it over and over.

Even WW2 wasn't completely black-and-white. I mean, Stalin was a dick, Iron Curtain, Western betrayal, Japanese-American internment, and so on. Some worse than the others, but politics are for elsewhere, really.

I'm glad to hear that a German/Central Powers campaign is likely going to be released. WW1 is well-known for BOTH sides holding a code of honor and chivalry. So, straight-out demonizing one side would be questionable, to say the least.

I should post this here since Flakfire's videos are consistently detailed.

I'm not so much hyped by the trailer as I am by the music. That music is amazing, better than any music in a Battlefield game or trailer yet, and it ties the whole trailer together. It captures the epic scale of the war, but also the hope that the characters feel that they might be able to return home after the war. I'm really glad that they decided to use a (albeit electronic) orchestra for this instead of the crappy electronic bands in previous games, as it conveys these feelings so much more effectively.

Let's hope that the actual campaign lives up to this.

How to ice an A-91

Next, wanna try adding a guy that you KNOW is bad, and just testing to see that? Example: PP-2000 (god I so wanna love this gun, and yet...)

Example: PP-2000 (god I so wanna love this gun, and yet...)

PP-2000 added. Y'know, it's not that bad....

Yes, it comes in last so far, but that is mostly because I'm making it shoot at 100m ADS - Not Moving as one of the criteria. Even then, between 50-100m Not Moving, when you include Useability, it is only 1.37% worse than the MTAR-21. Within 50m then it even beats the A-91.

Have a look, vs. the A-91 Carbine:

Using it with Muzzle Brake and Compensator is a wash in terms of overall performance. Comp is SLIGHTLY more accurate, while MB is SLIGHTLY more easy to use. Their overall scores are basically tied, with MB just ahead. I guess either can be recommended.

But... You can't be counting for the fact that it takes 9 bullets to kill at "long" range... Don't you dare tell me my A-91 is worse than a 9 BTK 650 RPM mediocre PDW.

Also. Just go heavy barrel. The recoil is low enough.

Well, technically...

Comparing a PP2K with HB and an A-91 with comp and stubby (as you suggested in an earlier post), at 50m not moving, the A-91 is only better by 4 damage per hitrate. While at 75m and 100m, surprisingly the PP2K does better than the A-91 (I'm pretty damn surprised as well).

And 10m and 50m moving the PP2K also does more damage per hitrate than the A-91. At 25m the A-91 is only better by about half a bullet's damage as well.

In addition, the PP2K has a much larger mag size and substantially less recoil. And it looks hella awesome. So comparing the A-91 to a PDW is of some worth after all, as the PP2K is better (technically, not practically) than the A-91.

Mind blown.

I... I...

*cries in a corner*

Zer0Cod3x explained it very well. If you look at the raw numbers right here on Symthic Comparison, you can see how that happened:

A-91 vs PP-2000 | BF4 Weapon Comparison | Symthic

A-91's "23%" RPM advantage only afforded it 1 extra round.

Reload times are wash.

Velocities are wash.

V-Recoil are wash (and this is HBar on PP2k vs. A-91 without).

Hipfire and ADS - Moving are better on the PP2k, but it's a PDW and not the surprising part.

The surprising part is that, as equipped (and we see above that PP2k HBar has almost same V-Recoil as A-91 without HBar so why not?), the PDW performs better at 50 - 100m than a bloody Carbine. Why?

H-Recoil Spread, 0.525 vs. 0.45, advantage PP2k.

SIPS, 42% better on the PP2k.

And here is the most important part. ADS - Not Moving Spread, 0.35 vs. 0.2, 43% improvement.

Without HBar then of course the PP2k loses, which is why when I add all the attachments together for an Overall Ranking, it would slot below the A-91. Run HBar on it, though, then... I'm sorry

I AM HAVING AN EXISTENTIAL CRISIS IN SCHOOL BECAUSE OF YOU TWO.

SEXY RUSSIAN BULLPUPS FTW.

In all seriousness, thank you both so much for giving me the numbers. I still don't want to accept them. You have led the horse to water. I still need to drink.

@ChineseToTheBone

protip: put all that stuff in the OP, so as to make it a collection of info

that beings said, i think we can guess what we're gonna plays and as who in which mission just by the names and the info we got,

friends in high places is probably something like being one of the comrades of richtofen in the flying circus, nothing is written is probably the ottoman empire campaign, trough mud and blood is probably the one with the tank crew, avanti savoia is undoubtedly us playing as an italian soldier on the front using the mountain tunnels system, the runner has probably to do with that scene in chalet we saw in the very first trailer or with the anzac troups, and i guess your guess about trough mud and blood is right, as it would be the first and only in the 6 stories to have pure trench warfare.

edit: after watching the trailer again, friends in high places is probably the one with the anzacs, specifically, anzac's pilots.

Yes, it's nice to have a trailer that isn't filled with a bunch of robot farts or mainstream Top 40 shit for once. This was easily the best trailer DICE has made in quite a long time.
