I'm curious about the bell curve damage model, specifically the increments themselves.

How large is the sweet spot for the rifles? Is it uniform or unique?

How do you differentiate the sweet spots for the different rifles to make them unique?
I.e. theres an obvious difference between a rifle that OHKs between 120-150m and a rifle that OHKs between 50-70m, but about a rifle that OHKs between 60-85m?

Presumably this will be the subject of four to eight balance patches over the course of two years.

What if it was good in the first try?

Passive Spotting is the future!

With this, I'll rid MGO3 of infestation. Sans bad gameplay MGO3 will be torn asunder. And then it shall be free. People will suffer, of course - a phantom pain.

Reddit and Konami will rewrite the records... And I will be demonized in human memory. But... The thirst for good gameplay that I have planted will infest MGO3. No one can stop it now. The Rebalance Mod will unleash that thirst unto the future.

Then presumably this will be the subject of six to ten balance patches over the course of two years.

You did not answer my question.

These are not mutually exclusive statements. Multiplayer balancing is dynamic enough that BARs can be fine on release, but the semi auto's might be too weak, so then they're buffed to compensate. LMGs are then shifted towards suppressing longer ranges, but still retaining a consistent BTK, so know the "good on first try" BARs are now underperforming in their role because of the meta shift towards long range combat.

Conversely there could be balance changes to the other kits to make them more close range oriented indirectly buffing the balanced BARs and now they over perform.

BARs with a OHK model can be balanced against the ranges of the other weapons, and should not be just written off as an impossible thing to balance. In fact it can be used to better differentiate the BAR class that has suffered in diversity, and balance compared to the other weapon classes since BF3.
