Infantry Weapons of Battlefield 1

As of DLC3: Turning Tides

Primary source: Battlefield 1 Companion.

Cross-reference: Battlefield 1 - Internet Movie Firearms Database - Guns in Movies, TV and Video Games

Now all fixed up to reflect class-specific sidearms, and all firearms added to the best of my ability. For reading material, English Wikipedia will be the 1st choice. For videos, C&Rsenal will have preference for their EXTREMELY deep dives, backed up by Forgotten Weapons who is almost an "official" source (Ian is in the BF1 credits).

What, tank driver gets a fucking Broomhandle and that's it?
Game may as well lock you in the vehicle permanently or give you the option to instantly respawn when it's destroyed in that case...

Also it really bothers me that only the Scout gets bolt action weapons. Automatic weapons (entrenched machine guns notwithstanding) were invented, yes, but they weren't prevalent, not at the very least until the very very end of the war...There goes my dream rocking an all-kit Lee-Enfield and screaming "OVER THE TOP!" at every engagement :(

The kind-of-awkward mix of sticking to it's historical guns and pretty-much disregarding them entirely at this point is annoying me a little, probably more than it should...Although that could just be the museum worker in my coming out...
That being said; None of that annoys me half as much as not having seen hide nor hair of one of the main participants in the entire fucking conflict yet (France)...

Apparently, this Broomhandle sweeps the enemy off their feet quite effectively.

I've brought this up before and they say not to worry about it being weak. But we'll see when the game comes out.

Passive Spotting is the future!

With this, I'll rid MGO3 of infestation. Sans bad gameplay MGO3 will be torn asunder. And then it shall be free. People will suffer, of course - a phantom pain.

Reddit and Konami will rewrite the records... And I will be demonized in human memory. But... The thirst for good gameplay that I have planted will infest MGO3. No one can stop it now. The Rebalance Mod will unleash that thirst unto the future.

it's the carbine version, basically a semi auto... ar of bf4? at leas so i'd expect it to behave, if it really behaved like a semi auto carbine that'd be quite weak, even considering the "be a tanker" mentality they try to put on the player.

Your expectations of this being a full historically accurate game should've gone away when we saw parachutes and massive gun-bearing zeppelins.

What, tank driver gets a fucking Broomhandle and that's it?

I believe they get the automatic version, despite it wasn't being made until the '30s. As such, I expect it to be as potent as the Assault SMGs, but with absolutely horrendous reload (I saw a footage that showed it as having 20 rounds magazine but not detachable so each round had to be shoved in by hand).

If nothing else it "solves" the "issue" of letting Recons in fighter planes for them to fly off to inaccessible places, bail out and then pull anti-material rifles out of their asses. You can think of it as taking the Carbines and DMRs away from the Engineers in BF4, so they can only use PDWs as primary weapons, and then only allowing them to start with tanks and planes.

*edited to add* Also, you don't "spawn" as the Driver Class; you become one when you spawn a tank / plane into the game. So you're not supposed to be using the Broomhandle unless you bail out, and at which time I'm sure you'd appreciate having it; it will tide you over until you die and can spawn as something else, spawn into another tank, or be able to "steal" another tank as you are the only person who can repair it.

Speaking of that,,,,

Also it really bothers me that only the Scout gets bolt action weapons.

I know Shotguns / Carbines / DMRs "all-kits" caused some "issues" in BF4, but I am a fan of them. I don't get to put in NEARLY as many hours into the game compared to most others, so I like the ability to get familiarised with a select few weapon no matter which class I end up playing as. And I do change my class quite often, basing my decision on the needs of the map /situation and squad makeup.

My wish is that the "carbine" versions of the BA rifles currently available to Scouts will become all-kits, such as G98 -> K98. My take on balancing them will be for them to do the same damage as the Medic semi-auto rifles (3HK, usually) but firing as slow as the Scout rifles.

It's not my game though, so whatever DICE decides will be what DICE decides.

None of that annoys me half as much as not having seen hide nor hair of one of the main participants in the entire fucking conflict yet (France)...

I read a dev interview somewhere that mentioned France will get its own DLC.

As of E3 2016 playable demo.

You missed the Luger P08. Also, IMFDB is also a good place to check, though it hasn't been updated with Pre-Alpha gameplay stuff yet.

Unless it's simply defaulted to semi and no one tried changing fire modes, it's the proper semi-only version. Also, like most other guns in the game it reloads with stripper clips, then loads rounds individually to make up the difference. If you needed to load 14 rounds into the C96 you would load one 10-rounds stripper clip, followed by four individual rounds.

Huh, fair enough I suppose. Don't know why I expected them to stick to that particular historical gun :P
Glad it's at least competent...Although a 9mm semi auto pistol probably would've been pretty fucking beastly back in the times of single action revolvers and bolt action mechanisms :D

You're right, they probably should have but they didn't :pinch: :P
Like I said I don't think it'll make much of a difference overall, it's just the part of me that catalogued a box full of First World War objects going "BUT IT ISN'T RIGHT HHHHNNNNGGGG!!!" :D

Yeah I suppose, I do wish it was an option though. However I can see from a pure gameplay point of view why they didn't make all-kit BARs in a game where their are still people with submachine guns and motherfucking Lewis Guns running around giving people various amounts of "What for!" :D

None of that annoys me half as much as not having seen hide nor hair of one of the main participants in the entire fucking conflict yet (France)...

About the whole 'france not being in the vanilla game'-thing

Why do people care so much about something that is essentially nothing but a character skin & VO combination?

So many mechanics and basic concepts are being changed in BF1. I don't know about you guys, but I am extremely anxious (or even blatantly scared) at how that is going to play out and affect the gameplay.

Meanwhile, all I see in mainstream discussions is marketing-related things - most notably the france-discussion.

Hardline is a fun and sometimes silly Cops and Robbers sorta thing and I think that's great. Or it would be if it didn't suck.

Meanwhile at DICE-headquarters during BF4's release:

I'm pretty sure there's a massive post-it on every desk "DON'T FUCKING TOUCH ANYTHING THAT IS ACTUALLY DOING WHAT IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE DOING"

UCAV:
"Hey guys remember how stupid prenerf mav was?"

"Lets add c4 to it."

The World Champion went to China once.

They called me a Gweilo.

So I kicked a big fucking hole in their wall and let all the Mongolians in.

just thought I'd share.

The thought of Assaults running out of ACE 23 rounds mid firefight, Engineers facing the rear of an unaware MBT with no rockets left, Recons unable to...Whatever the fuck they do. These are the things that keep me up at night ;(

About hunturk:
I don't know what's funnier, the video itself of the fact that an unlisted video has more views than most of your normal videos :P

You just live to hit people upside the noggin with a Math Bomb, don't you?

[context] Maybe it's the UK's overly aggressive porn filter at work. After all, it does have the word "monkey" in it and monkeys have been known to have sex so...

Previously, at DICE HQ:
"Ok guys, the password is "epic dream worlds"; everyone take a letter and do your best to turn it into into something random that we can put into a picture!"

I assume a functional game (BF4) also.

Aww!
*pinches cheeks*
So cute!

Why do people care so much about something that is essentially nothing but a character skin & VO combination?

Ok how about putting it this way: Why is their an entire part/faction of the game behind a paywall? Especially one that (assuming the game follows the general gist of WW1 with even a liberal interpretation) holds such significance. They (EA) did a similar thing with Jaavik in Mass Effect 3 and it irritated me just as much then.
