Seems like the stock(s) of (a) long carbine-like weapon(s)

Can we get a firearm expert and/or 'murrican in here?

Hardline is a fun and sometimes silly Cops and Robbers sorta thing and I think that's great. Or it would be if it didn't suck.

Meanwhile at DICE-headquarters during BF4's release:

I'm pretty sure there's a massive post-it on every desk "DON'T FUCKING TOUCH ANYTHING THAT IS ACTUALLY DOING WHAT IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE DOING"

UCAV:
"Hey guys remember how stupid prenerf mav was?"

"Lets add c4 to it."

The World Champion went to China once.

They called me a Gweilo.

So I kicked a big fucking hole in their wall and let all the Mongolians in.

just thought I'd share.

The thought of Assaults running out of ACE 23 rounds mid firefight, Engineers facing the rear of an unaware MBT with no rockets left, Recons unable to...Whatever the fuck they do. These are the things that keep me up at night ;(

About hunturk:

Previously, at DICE HQ:
"Ok guys, the password is "epic dream worlds"; everyone take a letter and do your best to turn it into into something random that we can put into a picture!"

I assume a functional game (BF4) also.

Aww!

Fact is, if DICE wants to stay authentic
Except they obviously aren't doing that.

With all due respect, but did you actually see the trailer? The game looks like a blend of Battlefield Heroes, TF2 and Battlefront loosely set in a WW1 setting.

It's obvious that they aren't going for realistic, outside of using weaponry, vehicles and locations from the WW1 timeframe.
I don't really get why BF1 and WW1 somehow has to be held to a different standard than other wars and games that depict them, when it comes to authenticity. What exactly about the trailer was out of place? You saw people getting whacked in the head with a shovel, biplanes strafing each other, artillery firing, guys with LMGs mowing down infantry and tanks running over trenches. Which part of that seemed inauthentic or resembling Battlefront or TF2 more than Battlefield?

As for the gore, every Battlefield game is friggin' sanitized. The use of white phosphorous is also banned on the battlefield, and yet here we are in BF4, happily burning people with incendiary grenades. In what way is this different than gas attacks? In what way is slitting someone's throat with a knife in BF4 different than bayonetting them in BF1?

As explained in my last post, I have no real issues with the arsenal, but I might find the tone and the potrayal of the scenario to be out of place.

Grenades that have a white phosphor load do not fall under any ban, they are mainly used for shielding movement and marking because of the extensive smoke they produce. However, yeah these legal weapons can be used in an amoral way. As I stated before I am not fine with knifing animations in BF3 and 4 either, I find them unnecessary and gimmicky, stuff implemented as Devs seem to think that melee executions are what the player wants in a shooter. Still to most players it is nothing but a teabag animation. In the game there will likely be no difference between the two, I think there should be though, as the combat is supposed to be more melee focused and it is authentic that a larger part of the conflict was close combat. It is however the wrong sign to put an emphasis on melee but depicting it in a way that makes it look easy. We'll see.
